I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
Hi Folks,
We have been asked back to do a static and flying display at the St Asaph Fayre again. It is being held on Sunday 16th August, at the usual place by Llannerch Hall, Trefnant.
Those have been before, will know it is a bloody good day out, there is a chance to do a bit of flying there if you fancy it, and also a chance to show off some of your models to the general public. It is also a great opportunity to sell our club, and try and recruit some potential new members. Add to that everything else going on there, and it is well worth a visit.
We are planning to have as many aircraft (of all types!) on display. So can people please post on this thread if you are able to attend, and what models you can bring to display (either static, or flying!).
We will also need some tables, gazebos, windbreaks, chairs too, so if you can bring those too, it would be appreciated.
Oh, and by attending and putting some aircraft on display, and helping out, we get free entry to the show.
Cheers!
Andy

Oh, and can everyone please let people know about this event, especially those that don't check in very often to the forum?

Good stuff guys. What will it take to tempt some of the less prolific club members out for the day? The promise of breakfast at the Whistlestop beforehand?
I'm bring lots of multirotors. And fpv stuff. That went down a storm last year...

A limb comp eh - I'll likely win that too as my legs and arms are probably the longest in the club :-)

Re: St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
Not wanting to put the fire out, or discourage members from attending, you need "B" cert to fly at a display of any kind where the general public will be present.
Re: St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
That's not strictly true is it? The bmfa book states that for large displays it is recommended that pilots hold a B cert for the type of aircraft being flown. In a later paragraph, it states that a B cert should be held. No where in the book does it say it is an absolute requirement that "needs" to be fulfilled.
In fact when it comes to the section on small displays, which is arguably what the St Asaph fayre is, it is actually up to the display organiser to decide whether a pilot is sufficiently competant to fly on the day.
And if we are are going to insist of having a B cert for the type of aircraft being flown there, does that mean no multi rotors to be flown? I'm not aware of anyone having a multi b cert....
Surely a bit of common sense could be applied? I mean, I wouldn't let me fly the aerobatic multirotors there, I'm clearly a danger...

Well I think a bit of
A drone zone would be a hit and I'm willing to display a few race quads bring some videos and to fly Fpv around a track would be awesome

Not really Brian. It's simple. The display organiser calls the shots. It's up to him to decide whether a pilot is okay to fly on the day. Whether that means a B cert or not depends.
Anyway, are you coming to the show? It would be nice to have some of your models on display, static or flying.

Re: St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
Oh and we've got a committee meeting next week. I'll get a definitive answer on flying at the show.
Most of the pilots on the fpv line at weston park were not holders of bmfa b certs by the way. They just demonstrated competence on the day...

Re: St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
I doubt I''ll be at the show Andy, I've been before when we were allowed a strip big enough for larger models which last year we were not, I'm not interested in static display so highly unlikely. Is (I'm sorry don't know his name) oggie/odoubleg actually a paid up member of the club as the way his name appears in this forum he is not, if so would he fly as a guest and does he carry any third party insurance cover.
The display organiser is that your good self ?

I would be pretty sure Oggie would have relevant insurance he does appear to be a responsible person
Re: St Asaph Fayre - 16th August 2015.
That's a shame. We could do with as much support as possible really.. it would be good to put on a cracking display, you never know it might encourage some.new blood into the hobby and the club.
