I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

St Asaph Fayre - Sunday 17th August.
HI Folks,
We have been asked to put on a small display at the St Asaph Fayre again this year. It is on a week Sunday (17th August). I believe the format will be the same as last year, so turn up around 9.30 ish, and fly stuff throughout the day, and chat to anyone interested.
We are sorting out the preparations for the flying strip there, and it is looking likely that the strip will be a lot better prepared than last year (to be confirmed though!).
However, I know some of the usual suspects have prior engagements this year, and can't make it. So, I'm trying to get an idea as to how many people are going to be able to attend for the day. It doesn't have to be to fly, having some models for static display, or help to talk to the public would be useful. If people can post on here and let me know, I would be grateful.
Cheers
Andy

Re: St Asaph Fayre - Sunday 17th August.
Aye, have fun writing off the Dogfighter!
I've just spoken to the organisers, and we can expect a properly mown strip this year, approx 25m x 8m or so. We will be in pretty much the same place as last year, with a fence between us and the public.
If anyone has any gazebos in case of inclement weather, and tables to bring too, we can do with those!
Cheers

I'll be there with a selection of models
No generator unfortunately. I can supply a monitor & laptop for a simulator if someone could find a generator

Good stuff. Don't forget any tables and chairs and gazebos, the more the better! Especially if the weather is less than perfect.

Hopefully will bring along my Huey 205 Turbine heli subject to flight testing tomorrow after a complete rebuild recently.

For anyone who wants to bring gazebos, tables, chairs and the like we have access to the site on Saturday. Winds are forecast to be light so we could put them up on the Saturday. Site security should be fine but obviously best not to leave planes, txs, etc there overnight

Re: St Asaph Fayre - Sunday 17th August.
We need a good turnout for this one! If you can make it then please do. Even if only to spell others for an hour or so
Just back from a long meeting with the Rotary Club organisers. From our perspective little has changed from expectations. Those who want to drop off heavy or bulky items such as tents, tables, gazebos etc can do so on Saturday. They will have a big presence there all day (and will serve food later on). I'll see if the long lost tent I have in the loft is still usable and will bring that to store stuff in overnight
They do need everyone, including us, set up by opening time which is 10.00 on Sunday though we can largely organise ourselves. Obviously not all of us will be arriving first thing on Sunday
We are located just about the same place as in previous years
Our parking is in the flying field. We get to it by driving in the entrance then down to the bottom of the site - this access road is now on the opposite side of the site to last year, urn right across the base of the site and into the flying field. Right again to bring vehicles up to our location. They are intending to make a step over the fence for us. This should work very well IMO
The field has been cut for hay so is fairly short already. They are intending to mow it to final length for us and I've asked for this to be as short as poss
There will be plenty of food on site, including a breakfast on Sunday
Lots of models of all types wanted! Gazebos, tables, chairs etc etc

Re: St Asaph Fayre - Sunday 17th August.
good stuff Zaidy, "B" test required to fly at a display unless you are flying under a different guise.....!!!!!!! ie S**LarkAP
Re: St Asaph Fayre - Sunday 17th August.
I can't take a "B" for multi, has to be a chief or heli examiner as lead
