I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Mini 250R
It looks okay, but I have a few issues with it:
1. If you break an arm, you have buggered the entire airframe = complete rebuild job
2. it's an x config, and is a bit of a bugger to orientate when flying LOS
3. Not sure whether it would be field repairable.
I reckon that a cheap ply frame is the way forward. It can be mended in seconds with CA and kicker, is ridiculously cheap to make, we wouldn't be reliant on spares from a foreign land, and it can be painted/coloured in dead easy. Even a complete rebuild job could be done in a few minutes, as everything would just unbolt, and transfer over to a new airframe (unless you bust wires/motors etc).
I'm going to try and update that concept design I did, to see what people think. I'll post some pictures later.
As for equipment, the Multistar baby-Beast motors are nice and cheap, and plenty powerful. Escs can be whatever we can get hold of.
The CC3d flight controllers (chinese made ones for cheap) aren't in this country yet, they are all shipping from china/Hong Kong. I reckon either a normal KK board, or KK mini is the way forward.

Re: Mini 250R
that little frame is only £8, it's worth a shot to get us in the air quickly while we sort the wooden ones out

Re: Mini 250R
Here's some Chinese frames like what I have drawn up....

Still think they would be better in ply though, much easier to do a field repair....
