I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

I'm told that the rotary club will be cutting our area. I'might thinking it might be an idea to check tomorrow or sat morning though, just to be sure....

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
Had a quick chat with Mark at the field tonight about doing a toffee drop for the kids. Ive fitted a dropper to the Tundra and all seems to work well, so Im up for that assuming the organisers are OK with it ( Insurance etc ).
I'll buy some werthers or similar and should be able to manage a couple of slots - one mid morning, ditto mid afternoon. Will need help with this one, marshalling the kids etc, and issuing sweeties to those poor unfortunate souls upon exiting the field who dont find one

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
I will be going down about middday tomorrow (Saturday) to recce the site and prepare as best we can if anyone wants to pop along to thats great (maybe loads to do may be nothing to do so no issues if you dont want to come).
Unfortunatly the weather may scupper us from doing a lot on Sunday but I know the RDMFC spirit to put on a show will mean a good turn out non the less

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
Turns out there was a bit to to
Same layout and set up as last year nothings changed so no major drama.
Strip cut as best i could (5km of grass cut according to my running app) and to be fair its not all that bad. Id happly fly anything off there.
See you all tomorrow. Brekki in the whistle stop 8.30 for those that care to. If not event field for 9.30 pilots brief 9.50 flying from 10am.

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
I think we can chalk that one down as a great success for the club. Despite some challenging conditions, all went well and all 20 application forms and 20 "learn more about the club" leaflets went so we may get more potential members. Plenty of interest and positive comments from the many members of public that I spoke with and yes... toffeee drop went well with 6 successful drops in all, which all found their target - eat your heart out Barnes ( Wallace ).
Next time we will do a couple of drops on the hour, every hour.
Big thanks to my glamorous assistant Jem, and also to Zaid for the re-charging and excellent kiddie crowd control... Gary is now our PR guy, and Brandon is in charge of custard creams.
Only the fat kids didnt get to the toffees in time so that's fine

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
That was a good day out. Thanks to everyone who came to help out, sit around for the day, have a fly, talk to the public, get the ice creams in, cut the grass, the lot. I think it's safe to say it turned out great. The weather played ball, mostly, and I think we had a nice variety of models on show too.
Nice pictures Andy, I'll have to see if I got any good 'uns when I finish work.

Re: St Asaph Fayre 2016
A good day out & good flying too despite the challenging conditions & well done to all who took to the air. Interest in the club & model a/c very positive. Toffee drop was good fun to watch & the "trial flight" crew of Tim & Jeremy did a great job. I was really surprised at how interested people were in the "multi Rotors". Probably due to the fact that many can be seen in retail shops & sadly maybe some adverse publicity in press & t.v.? Most people were surprised to hear that flying of these aircraft is regulated & were impressed with the club's approach. The number of people saying " is that a drone?" was incredible !
Thanks to all who brought along models for flying & static & all the behind the scenes work. Aerial pics. are great too & don't forget to look for some free publicity in the Rhyl Journal this week.
