I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
Hi folks.
Time for another informal club competition, on the september club night. We are revisiting the Limbo comp this time, pretty much the same as last time (with the exception of a less robust limbo line!), with the same rules:
I may do some kind of extra bonus too.
See you there.
Time for another informal club competition, on the september club night. We are revisiting the Limbo comp this time, pretty much the same as last time (with the exception of a less robust limbo line!), with the same rules:
- There shall be no restriction on what models can be flown in the competition, helicopters, multirotors, fixed wing, gliders, anything!
- There shall be a limbo ribbon strung across the strip, at around 6 feet above the ground.
- Pilots shall fly one at a time, and they shall take off, and when ready they shall start their limbo attempts by shouting "GO!". loudly.
- When Go is shouted, a 2 minute timer shall begin.
- The number of successful passes under the tape shall be counted within the 2 minute period by an officially appointed judge, i.e. Me.
- whomever gets the most successful passes, wins.
- A successful limbo pass shall be one that passes under the ribbon (and does not break it, or pass above it!).
- The passes will only count going in one direction
- Touching the floor on a limbo pass voids that pass too.
- The official Judges decision will be final.
- Gyros, and flight aids are permitted.
I may do some kind of extra bonus too.
See you there.

The official weather forecast is looking favourable for the 2nd official limbo competition on Thursdays official clubnight.
Anyone coming, and what are you flying?

Personally, I like the semi-transparent look, however the choice of scheme is entirely up to you, the owner

Nice one guys.
So we don't use the same indestructable limbo tape of mine, does anyone have a couple of old VHS tapes they wouldn't mind getting rid of? We can use that for the official limbo tape then...
Cheers
Andy

Can I queiry the rules
"When Go is shouted, a 2 minute timer shall begin"
Timer should begin when the first "limbo" is made

I'll have an official review of that rule today. In reality, the timer will start when I press the official button

To be honest, I quite liked the official original tape, the double hard stuff. I like the idea of "killer" limbo, touch the tape, and your plane will be killed. It could be an interesting one for the next club night perhaps?

Re: ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
hell yes. The official official will be there at approximately 6pm. Comp starts as soon as the limbo poles are erected, and finished when everyone is bored...
Big prizes this week too, including a fully featured hexacopter to the winner of the "most like Andy Kaz's flying" category....

Re: ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
Great fun as planned - one or two usual suspects didn't arrive / fly - may have been a tad windy for some, but all in all lots of fun, which is of course the object of the games ;-)
Think I retained my crown for fixed wing single rotor category with 16 passes was it ?
We will have to wait on the official results
Well done to young Brendon on best MR result - Zaidy came a not so close second LOL

Re: ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
He shall be henceforth known as Brendan I feel....
Cracking night again guys, thanks for coming along and having a go! As always, I have been beavering away compiling the official results spreadsheet (see below). Congrats to Brandon for winning overall, with Tim coming a close second.
I think we may have to squeeze one more comp in on a Thursday night, before the nights draw in too much. Suggestions on a postcard!

I see the usual nonsensical scoring and classification system has been deployed !

Re: ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
The official scoring system is a work of genius I'll have you know. It's simple. 1 official point awarded for a successful pass under the limbo ribbon. Then an extra official bonus point awarded in the categories shown, as decided by the official official for the night. I.e. me.
What's nonsensical about that?!
I have just spotted a typo though, you were first in your class Tim... Hold on, will correct..

There ya go then - blame it on a typo, but I did wonder why I wasn't first in class.

Re: ClubNight - 3rd Sept. Limbo Comp!
Prob not the right topic to post in, but just want to say a quick thank you for letting me attend on last Thursday. It was a great night and really nice to meet you all. Special thanks to Zaid for showing me the ropes and trusting me to have a go on his quadcopter. I'll deffinately be back and Will discuss joining club if That's ok. Zaid, Mark, I may need your help with buying my first quad. Now I've seen zaids 450, I don't want an Amazon one! Thanks again. Hope to see you all soon
