I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

2009 Nats
The above photo shows all the IMAC pilots and most of the aircraft taking part in the IMAC Nats at Barkston which myself and Richie attended. For the first two days we flew down in what is known as the compound and any spectators or indeed participants had to get to and from there in pre-arranged and marshalled convoys which was a bit of an irritant. We flew in strong winds all weekend the first day being very challenging as there is an upslope at the back of the compound which with Saturday's wind direction gave quite a wicked curl over effect, the wind was from a slightly more benign direction on Sunday and on Monday we moved and flew up on the showline from a tarmac runway but still with a hefty breeze.
On Sunday afternoon managed to shoot off to the control line area after my days flying was over and caught up with John Bowman and Ian Blain who were busy fettling their well rested Mini Goodyear. Once Ian got the model set up they flew in a hottly contested heat and set a good qualifying time which had them at that time in third place and hopefully in the three up final. I later found out that some later qualifiers deposed them from their place in the final, nonetheless a good effort since the guys have done no competative flying for over a couple of years.
On closing must say a big thanks to Rich for supplying my digs for the weekend and appologise for wetting his trousers as we left Barkston (long story)

Re: 2009 Nats
Thanks Andy, yes it was the best turn out IMAC's ever had, but that was a double edged sword as it meant we got only one known schedule per day instead of the promised two and the Unknown. This has lead to talk of possibly two flight lines next year, time will tell.
Re: 2009 Nats
Just realised my earlier posted nats pics need to be together with Brian's nats page
so here they are again
If you have never been to the Nats then put it down as a must do for 2010

Re: 2009 Nats
Thanks for the photos Paul and thanks too for your visit to the compound (it felt a bit like cell block "H" over there at times) here's a couple more photos first one's sent by Jeff Reed IMAC PRO and shows myself Rich and Phil Hoyle "The Three Monkies" all relaxed and watching the Freestyle final. If you look carefully at the rudder of Si Mc Neil's Yak you'll see the burnt film where he dragged his rudder on the tarmac during his freestyle
The second is one emailed to me by John Bowman and shows me and Rich escaping the showline after my Monday known schedule
If the forum doesnt show all the piccy, right click on the image and select show photo from the DD menu

Re: 2009 Nats
Cheers for all your good luck & thanks messages, for those who didn't attend you missed a brilliant bank holiday weekend, whether you compete or not it's well worth the trip just to see how many dedicated aero modellers there are, the swapmeet is something else, although I didn't get to see it this year.

The Nats is on my list of events to attend in the Mobile Yellow Command Centre next year

Re: 2009 Nats
I could not see the pics by right clicking. Only by downloading them into my pc and then viewing them. It may be that if you are the original host then right clicking works 4U. So I have tweaked them to resize them and fed them into photo bucketBrian Colclough wrote:If the forum doesnt show all the piccy, right click on the image and select show photo from the DD menu
