I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

RDMFC Club Night - 18th June
Got the rolls in the freezer, leftover from Sunday 14th. Just bought 1/4lb burgers and kebabs, just need to find an old saucepan to do the onions in - bit of a gut-bust this Thursday if the weather holds
I see I've been christened Allan 'Ramsay' Warner after my cooking/poisoning attempts on Sunday. Sooooo on Thursday every burger etc will come with an extra helping of abuse and bad language

Did anyone actually survive the banquet ?
The forum seems very quiet, apart from some who didn't go.
(only joking, I bet you did a great job and enjoyed it)

Old fring pan available yes. Saucepan no.
Auntie Gladys is making more sticky buns. Hopefully, the icing topping will be more merangue like.
It's a Nigella Lawson recipe you know !
No it's not the wrong forum. I know. It's a toy aeroplane club.

Toys? They're real you know! ha haaa!
The weather looks like it is going to be a bit iffy this afternoon, but not to worry! I may bring a kite with me if the wind gets up much more!
Cheers
Andy

OK BatmanAllan Warner wrote:Paul, bring the old frying pan. I'll bring the sliced onions pre covered with olive oil.
What time do you want it there ? Or do you want it at yours today?
I'll bring some castor too, just in case Andy prefers it to Olive Oil.
I suppose we have to respect the Chairman's wishes

Me neither. They both sound suspiciously french, yet surprisingly tasty!

Was there a problem Houston ?Allan Warner wrote:Paul, bring the old frying pan. I'll bring the sliced onions pre covered with olive oil.
I was at the gate 4:00 PM, I waited till 4:30.
Went home and it got darker, spots rain and wind stronger. Tried a few numbers, no reply.
So abandoned the idea.

Well I'm there now, all on my own, apart from some cows! It's alright, although the wind is a bit variable...

Re: RDMFC Club Night - 18th June
Sorry, got delayed. Got there just before 16.45 but Peter was already there. Melfyn arrived a little later and it was decided to wait until 18.30 then go. The wind got stronger and all thoughts of a BBQ were abandoned along with flying, especially when it began to rain. Andy turned up and bravely flew his foam delta, lost the battery and then the plane in a distant field. At this moment the reporter turned up. Took some static shots and as I was about to leave Brian turned up to furnish him with more static pics. Leigh payed a short visit as well. All in all a bit of a wash out. Still the forcast for next week is looking good.

Re: RDMFC Club Night - 18th June
Andy did manage to recover his model and canopy but not the battery. The model did sustain some damage as the battery decided to bail out, but this was quickly repaired and Andy flew it again shortly after.

Hope the food survived to see another outing and you were't too dissapointed with the miserable weather. It nearly was OK.
Yes we'll try again next week. Need better liason.
Allan send me (pm) your phone no please, I've lost it since the Rapier info.

Re: RDMFC Club Night - 18th June
It was okay!
As mentioned, I had a slight incident with the now-souped-up Funjet, whereby the battery was ejected halfway through a rolling circle. Not much damage sustained, although the battery is nowhere to be seen I'm now convinced that something or someone is stealing my models and parts, and hiding them. I've lost my Faaaaark! and now a battery. What next?!
Oh, and the less said about the next flight, the better. I misjudged where 0 feet altitude actually was. I think my altimeter was reading a little high. Net result = funjet in rather a sorry state!
I also had a couple of hovers with the helicopter. It was a nightmare at first, because of the wind, but it's surprising how quickly you get used to it
Same time next week?

Re: RDMFC Club Night - 18th June
Just a quick thank you to those of you who turned out for last nights press photo session. Shame about the weather, still I suppose we can't always be blessed with sun and little wind.
