I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Rhyl Airshow 2013
Massive personal thanks from me to all the members that made the effort to show the public what RDMFC are about. Both yesterday and today you all put in hours of great PR for the club which was well revived by all.
I'm personally gutted about the weather not giving us the opertunity to properly show what we are about but hey how it's better than sitting in the house.
Thanks to Dave M as well for the pies they were bang on and well appreciated by all.
Good show of models today as well
And Steve had his big 205 Heli just out of shot and Andy had a table of tat out too
Well done all of you hopefully your efforts will go towards the future of the club

Sorry not to be with you, but did get a couple of shots of the Reds from my garden
Re: Rhyl Airshow 2013
Was a great show pity bout the weather at least it was dry however cant believe the amount of fine sand that has made its way in to my 205!!!!
May have to strip out the mechanics and turbine subject to a further detailed inspection tomorrow

Re: Rhyl Airshow 2013
thanks for that zaidy NOT quite as simple as that As you know sand is very aggressive and if sucked inside a turbine engine running at say 3 to 9 thousand rpm causes massive damage so keeping everything crossed all will be ok and not to mention the mechanics!!!!!!

Re: Rhyl Airshow 2013
A very good couple of days! Shame we couldn't fly
Unfortunately I now have a couple of engines to strip and clean since sand managed to find its way in despite precautions
But a lot of interest in the club which cannot go amiss

Yes zaidy found the fun cub a week later half way up an oak tree not far from the swimming pool just by chance no damage. I checked again all the photos you kindly took and on no258 after zooming in there she was!!
Thanks for that.

Re: Rhyl Airshow 2013
As one of the few members who attended both, full long days, can't help feeling a little dissapointed at the poor turnout - especially Saturday. Even a few more static models brought down and left for display would have been nice. Hey Ho, thats clubs for ya I guess:roll:
Big well done to those who did turn up, even if only for a bit of moral support and banter, and special mention to Dave M for the nosh. Lets hope we get asked back next year, and that we can actually fly then!

Re: Rhyl Airshow 2013
I had a bloomin' marvellous day on Sunday, It was a bit of a shame about the wind being so strong it made flying a little unsafe, and a bit of a shame we didn't get more members planes out on display, but thanks to everyone who helped out and brough stuff down to fill with sand!
I've got some corking photos, just need to get them uploaded
