I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Blenderm tape
It is for depron,
You wont get it to stick to EPP unless you spread Pour there first in which case you may as well just do pur hinges like I do

Re: Blenderm tape
Go on then, explain Pur hinges. Are they something to do with pussy (cats)? I want a hinge that is going to survive on a speed delta too by the way. I don't want no hair fairy hinge that is going to break at the first excursion over 300mph indoors......
And, another question. How on earth do you get the paper templates I've printed, to stay in place on the EPP whilst I cut the shapes out!? So far I've reduced half a sheet of EPP to slightly odd shaped speed delta components. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but at 300mph indoors, o.5mm out here and there is going to end up making a huge difference to the rudder authority....

Re: Blenderm tape
Sticking templates is easy Pritstick!
Save your self some time though and dont bother cutting a pointless rudder
Pour hinges are easy, (make it top hinged) bevel both surfaces to 45* run a bead of UHO Por along both points bring them together, take them apart, leave for 10-15mins bring them together again and BOOM! one strong ass hinge.
Take care not to get any Por in the 45* slopes, Used this method on my 312 flight old Ramiel and haven't torn one yet!

Re: Blenderm tape
Maybe this will help
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSE6v9NFRCM
The important part is - for models like Ramiel where lot's of movement is needed - do not push the parts together too hard as the hinge will work not lightly. Also just a minimum amount of glue is needed.
For any bigger models where servos are strong and big movement is not needed - push together hard

I send it to all my customers asking about the por hinges - so far nobody complained

I beg to differ, once the speed delta breaks the speed of sound, the ailerons may well become ineffective, so the rudder will be the only way of guiding the Supersonic craft around the sports hall!
I'm going to watch the video now. Am i right in thinking that the hinge is the POR itself then? And when performing the bevelling, do you leave a little bit of a flat area to apply the por to, or do you cut the bevel to a point?
Cheers Guys!

Re: Blenderm tape
I do it to a point with my awsome 45* sanding tool
Correct the hinge is Por, I believe a lot of the glider boys do the same thing but with Silicone .

Re: Blenderm tape
That works well! Just got back in after leaving my POR hinge to dry for a few hours. It is dead strong, but remarkably flexible. Nice one
