I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Confession time
Confession time, Went to the field this afternoon, flew the Twister had 3 flights, it was windy but not to bad.
Got the Funfighter out, successfully managed to hand lauch it and do a few circuits but then it decided to go dead stick when downwind and low, im really annoyed with myself because instead of keeping the nose down and keeping the wings level i decided to turn back into wind and head for the strip. Big Mistake!! it stalled and went in
Ive been flying since 2008 and this is the first time ive ever put one in, its not a nice feeling!, the only positive i can take out of it is that its taught me a valuable lesson!
I still fancy a funfighter so may build another one

Re: Confession time
Never mind Pete, confession's good for the soul they say, if we're honest we've all done the same sometime.

Re: Confession time
A-ha! - it seems I am indeed missing something (apart from all the fun as Roy kindly pointed out!) - ALL OF PETE'S POSTS!
Somehow managed to get him on my "ignore list" which would explain why he can't PM me either!
Sorry to hijack the thread, but as I have no idea how I managed to get him onto my ignore list, (didn't even know I had an ignore list) would someone please be kind enough to PM me how to get him off it!

You told me last summer you didn't want to talk to Pete & asked if I would show you how to tick the ignore box

Re: Confession time
I'd like to say it was intentional not to let you have a go, sadly not, dumb thumbed it badly
Re: Confession time
Peter, I would say its perfectly repairable. Take the weighty bits out, strip the covering off the the fus for a few inches either side of the damaged area and try offering the two ends up. Hopefully you've picked up all the bits but no problem if not, just graft in some new wood. I would use pva to give yourself time to get everything properly aligned and taped up with masking tape. Sand the area smooth and recover. See you at the field soon
Horrible feeling though!

The wing is un damaged, and ive glued the fus back together, to get some strenth back where the damage is would it be a good idea to put some thin ply over the the cracks that ive glued together on the fus?

Re: Confession time
Sorted! -cheers for the info Mark!
(Now that I Can see what has happened)............
Bad luck Pete, I genuinely feel for you buddy! You can't help but put sentiment on something you have built yourself (now I see the appeal of ARTF's - less build, less attachment!)
Glad it is repairable though- I want a go on the sticks mid season
Rich...............I told you not to say anything!
