I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Weather report from St Asaph looking over to the field in Rhyl:
Currently sunny, with about 2/8 cloud cover. Temperature is about 16 degrees, but it feels warmer in the sun. Wind is currently about 10-12mph, westerly.
I'll be eading over for a couple of hours after work all being well

Just returned from the field. Had a flight but the wind was a bit on the strong side. Blowing straight down the strip though. Pete Slater and Will Bertoni have just left too. Will was running in his 4 cylinder OS. Awesome!! You could hardly hear it on tickover.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I second maidened my Unicorn which flew like a dream, with only a couple of clicks of trim! - sh#t off the proverbial shiny shovel!
PLUS not a tree branch in sight! Two great flights, two great landings and left about 5:45 (ish) when the light started to go!
I love this hobby!

Put a 2600kv reactor on the back end which is pulling 30.4amps at max rpm on the 6x4 prop. Single piece of aluminium U channel is bolted to the metal plate on the underside, and the motor is held on by an alloy stick mount.
Needed an extra 50 of lead to get the C of G back to 10 inches from the nose so overall it is now heavier than I had hoped for, but never-the-less not the end of the world!
Will vertical climb which im happy about - glides reasonably well actually despite the extra weight, and is like a bloody bullet when you open up the throttle!
All Gravy so far!

Re: Thursday 22nd
Nice one. The Unicorns do glide nice, even when built a little lardily
I'm half tempted to do a winter upgrade to mine, and get some more power on board. I'm running at about 24Amps at the moment, so I'll be keen to see yours in flight with a few extra watts. Give me a shout if you are heading down to the field at all this weekend
Andy
