I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Aerotow 14th August
Cool that, I towed at TVSA with Steve quite a few years ago, my 1/4 scale Wilga went under the wing of Steve's 1/3 scale Wilga, I have a pic somewhere, I'll try to find it.
The Wilga was really struggling there, I'm thinking of the DLE222 when I get round to my 1/3 scale one. Steve used to have a ZDZ 160 power plant, although he was moaning that it wasn't very good he may have put alternative power in by now.

Re: Aerotow 14th August
Well for my tentative start in aerotowing, I have bagged this at a good price from a flying buddy.
Hope to collect next weekend at the LLeyn PSS flyin.
Grunau baby of course....
Each wing panel is approx 66 inches long with a chord of approx 12 inches. The Fuz is approx 58 inches long.
It is of a traditional build . i.e balsa, ply & covering is solartex.
I believe it was built from a plan ( Mike Trew was the model designer) I am told .
So, that seems to be around 11.5 - 12' wingspan allowing approx 6 -12" for fuselage width.
That makes it approx 3.5Mtr then

Re: Aerotow 14th August
Flew Wilga tonight with the 110cc engine, really nice & quiet lots of pull some nice slow-soft landings & some slow-heavy landings not recommended.
Re: Aerotow 14th August
I'll be there nice and early (anyone fancy breakfast at that Cafe on the HTM park up the road from the field?). I'll have a few things to fly, mostly rocket powered!

I'm easy, If today is anything to go by, I'll be woken up by the little one at about half five in the morning anyway..... 8.43am?
Just had a look at the latest forecast on XCweather, It is looking like we might get away with a half decent day weather wise!
