Arrived home today to a nice box from a man down 'saff

Opon opening I was pleasently suprised by the well packed goods



But for the life of me I cant work out what these are for

Got it - its a mustang from PB models - used to be Cambrian funfighters

Progress so far

Balsa fuse sides with ply doublers and first 3 formers in



Next step was to add the other fuse side



After that the logerons go on and formers 7 and 8, starting to look like a plane already, and I havnt cut myself or swarn at it yet

I felt like i'd earned a quick break



Then it was on with sheeting the back end. Only one cut thumb and a spilt cup of coffee to report so far.





Proberbly the last of tonights updates as ive off to watch the Daytona 500

You can tell the wife is away - he is sanding balsa in the house!

Don't forget to note the grain direction of the 2mm bottom sheet......

Things have been progressing well,

Fuse is now nearing completion, most of the major parts now atached ready for shaping



Wing LE and TE and the LE fillets are on and as of right now there being joined togeter with hopfully the corect 50mm diheadal, Thick foam safe cyno was used for the LE and TE and the join is beging made with PU clue from Mathews and Son (Jem)

You know how P51's always have a name on the front end, like Betsy, or Miss Demeanour or something like that? Well, can we have a forum naming competition for this one?

My choice would be "Big Beautiful Doll" the one in the British War Museum

I'd use a bit of artistic license, and name it "Big Beautiful Barnes", and see if anyone notices....

What about "Bits R Us" Oh that's me lol
I named mine "Grim Reaper" after a real WWII plane but it literally went down in flames! so I'd go for a nice safe name, "Bottoms up" could result in some good (read interesting) graphic ideas!

Moved to the garage today for some serious carving and sanding, Wing had its tips and TE fillets added and all sanded to shape, and work begain on the shaping of the fuse.

As it stands

Nice work Mark.I knew you'd get into building once you started.
