I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
Well a picture is worth a thousand words...
Before the flight I range tested and It checked fine, I checked the range in flight and went stright up intill I could barley make out the dot in the sky.
Was coming in for a landing over the corn field when I lost ALL control over the model and it pulled itself into a dive I did NOT stall it as I had power on and was making the final turn. It ended in a thud, but at least the prop saver did the job! Battery voltage was fine, and the Tx wasent playing up as I took the cougar for a flight afterwards without a hitch. When back at the pits I plugged it back in and wiggeld the sticks and everything worked (- the striped servo)
Yes ok make the jokes about pilot error but I can tell when a model isnt responding, this is a warning to people who have/thinking of buying one of these Rx, Tim says his work fine, maby I got a dud in the batch.
I think this line best sums up the experience.

Re: Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
I didn't see the arrival but having looked in the model there was no heatshrink on the receiver or any means to stop it moving around inside the fuz, maybe a possibility it moved towards the metal control rods & shorted out momentarily, not 100% sure just a thought, yes you do get what you pay for, get the system on the bench setup & check it all out, cover those bare connections with the heat shrink supplied, mount the receiver so it cant move use velcro or double sided tape to secure.
Re: Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
Ok, well it was shoved inside a load of bubble wrap but I pulled it out to make sure it was ok and to see what the little light was saying. But yes I will heat shrink it and mount it on the fuz

Well done, just nice to see things tidy, it makes it easier to try & shed some light onto the problems if they occurrrrr.
Re: Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
so could be a builders error therefore Pilot error for not spotting bad building. The Pilot is in charge of his a/c and the integrity of all components.Really nothing to do with the receiver.

Bad building.. such as?johnoxleydean wrote:so could be a builders error therefore Pilot error for not spotting bad building. The Pilot is in charge of his a/c and the integrity of all components.Really nothing to do with the receiver.
The Rx was fully insulated with bubble wrap so no chance of shoring out, unless it was some super metal bubble wrap :/

Re: Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
But thats why there is a piece of hear-shrink supplied Sam
As everyone who witnessed the maiden flight on the Superfly - I found the unit to perform well outside the expected parameters - be interested to hear from all the others who had a unit how they are performing.

Re: Cheap and cheerfull? BEWARE!
Not used mine yet (dam the TX) but as Tim's demo showed they seem more than up to the job,
Sam somtimes these thigs just happen, when i lost my all molded shooting star on its maiden on the Orme there was no explination to be found, same with my big red 45cc tug a year ago flown all year no prob, then suddenly pitched down distroying it, admitidly sometimes i even make mistakes like last night with Ben's plane (still well gutted about that)
Last night you seemed convinsed of another glitch with the couger so maybe bad mouthing the RX;x kindley ordered by Tim was abit hasty
