Beware fraudsters at it again!

Just a little warning to everyone that fraudsters are now targeting Debit cards as well as credit cards.
I only use a Visa debit card as I do not posess any credit cards and got a letter from Barclays fraud prevention dpt today highlighting 2 attempted transactions on my account, one for 1p followed by a refund of 1p one munite later, then four muniets later one for £325.50 which was blocked.

I called them today and was told there had been two more attempted transactions, one for £20 at Carphone Warehouse and one for £255 at Abercrombi whoever they are ( both blocked).

The most annoying thing about this all is that my card is now blocked and I have had to borrow money from a friend to ty me over untill my new card arrives. Beware all!

sad news indeed, this seems to be on the up across the board, 4 club members and i know of atleast 10 other people from difrent walks of life its a joke

since the new "safe" chip n pin bull came along things are far less safe

Funny you mention Carphone Warehouse. My credit card was hit for £30 from them and £35 from O2 last month. Visa put a block on the card and gave me a new account. It's now in the hands of their fraud department who think it may be an unscrupulous sales assistant who has kept my details.

Seems to be happening all the time now!!

As you know my visa debit card was hit for £1831.12 in January this year, I was lucky the bank gave me my money back.
