I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Club Night - 19th August
Morning all,
Just had a gander at the weather forecast, and it is looking pretty damn good for tomorrow's club night. 7mph wind, nice and warm, what more could we ask for?! After the week I have had, I have decided to sack work off at midday, and head straight down to the field with a gallon of petrol, an armada* of rockets, and a fully charged Tx battery. Anyone else heading over?
Cheers
Andy

Might just bring the Mig for its maiden - Marty has now finished the painting so she is fit to be seen out in public.

I guess thatrs up to you, if you want to get stuck and churn up the field, and quite possible ruin your model then thats up to you.

Re: Club Night - 19th August
Just got back myself. Rain stopped play
True to form though, I had 1.5 flights of a little RC rocket glider I was test flying. I built a quick prototype to test out some new little motors (5.5 second burn, 150gram thrust jobbies). The little delta was test chucked, worked great, so out to the strip for a first powered flight. I lit the fuse, Jem held on till I said "chuck"...
I Said "go go go", and Jem chucked the little delta. It sank to the floor, and just as it touched down, the rocket fired. A little bit of a skid, and away it went, about 15m altitude gained, a circuit and a landing. Great.
The next flight was not quite as successful. SO much so, I only class it as half a flight. WE timed the chuck much better, and the boost was good for about 2 seconds. Then it seems a servo failed hard over, and the little delta headed groundwards in a nice gentle spiral. For something that only weighs about 100 grams, it buried itself pretty good!
Roll on some dry weather for more testing
