I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Oh Sam.....out of the mouths of babes etc etc
Dates clash with PSSA at the Orme, so I may do aerotow on one day, and PSSA on 'tother.

If your going to fix a hook on it then the bungee will be best, fit it 5-10mm in front of the CoG, if it's a nose release that wording gives it's location away, 10-20mm behind nose but it's solid foam so won't work, tape a peice of string onto the nose & leave it attached & the tug will release you
The wildthings go great off the bungee

Not true Tim they actualy go quite well, just dont stay in the air very long, a few years ago now we had 3 of them on the back of a tug and raced um back to the deck, right laff that was!

Thats odd, my post has disappeared. I posted earlier to say I meant that it would be crap at actual"gliding" rather than slope soaring - I agree it will go well, but not for long LOL

Heh heh, tugging a weasel. I also tossed your weasel so hard, it's nose came off.
As I said, if anyone wants anything that isn't normally considered an aerotow model, so long as you have a method of fastening a short bit of string/line/ribbon of an appropriate breaking strain to the front of it, we can get it aloft with the soon to be revealed "Tugmeister 2000" *
Cheers

Re: Aerotow 2010 - August 14th/15th
Well Andy, fancy putting on a real firey show? I recon my xeno behind your buger burner would be a wheez, especially if the tow line was really short! on reflection, it would be more dramatic at night!
Re: Aerotow 2010 - August 14th/15th
Xeno towing should be fine Perhaps not with the Jet, but it will definately go up on tow fine. Adding a tow hook should be pretty easy too, there is plenty of structure to hang it off on the Xeno

Re: Aerotow 2010 - August 14th/15th
I was thinking more along the lines of setting fire to the xeno with the jet after burner! lol 'bout all it's good for.
Re: Aerotow 2010 - August 14th/15th
Well Sam, I am not a fan of the xeno, even when it was new, and mine has been bounced around the big rock a few times now and has gained a little weight but it's always been sluggish in the air!
The only reason I got it was because I thought it would be handy on (to quote you) "the big lump of metal". The first thing that failed was the hinge so it instantly lost the facility I bought it for so a spectacular "flaming" end would be the highlight of the xeno's miserable existance!

Early weather forecasts are showing this weekend as being semi-decent weather wise! Could this be the first RDMFC aerotow in ages that we have soem decent weather? Fingers crossed!
Don't forget we will have means of towing pretty much anything in the air, so bring your wildthings, foamies, chuck gliders, anything!

Re: Aerotow 2010 - August 14th/15th
Bring it along, so long as you cut the engine and glide into a landing, you can fly it Seriously though, we are not going to be uber strict about what can and cannot fly. Obviously if there is a big queue of gliders waiting to go up, then we might ask you wait a short while, but realistically, I think we can accommodate everyone this weekend
