I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Diversity of Gliding
As I keep saying .... I've been away from modeling for a long, long time
I'm discovering things daily and I'm loving it! I've stumbled across DS! I just gotta have a go at that!
Anybody in the Club doing it?
Would my Xeno stand up to it?

Re: Diversity of Gliding
Dynamic soaring relies on a well defined shear layer in the airflow that you are flying in, so that usually means sites with sharp ridges, defined edges etc etc. I'm no expert, but places like Rushup Edge in Derbyshire is going to make a cracking DS site when the wind is directly perpendicular to the ridge...
I have heard of people DS'ing using things like treelines, walls etc. I have had a few attempts using the sea wall at Pensarn in a northly, with my Alula. I failed miserably.....

From what I've been reading quite small features can be used, as you say, tree lines also small humps, walls and even house roof lines ....
Is there anyone in the Club into this?
