I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Me too, can we get some aerial shots with quads or are they banned being power, I wonder if you get lift with one, would also be good to see if they hold station behind the slope in turbulent air

Shhh, tell everyone the motors are generators, and the props are spinning in the slope lift. The battery is to power the lights and camera right? I'm going to try and get across late afternoon. It's been ages since I've been up the Orme flying.
I'm reluctant to try the Graphite up there again, after what happened last time...

Obtained a sheet of regulations for flying models on the Orm, from the controlling authority, a couple of years back. It states that electric (no ic) is allowed.

Was this sheet from the council?

Re: Gliding Sunday 22.9.13
Allan,
IIRC I started with the council and got bounced around until after several days I ended up with some one(not council, don't remember who) who knew what I was talking about. They confirmed that there was an agreement concerning model flying on the Orme, reached some years back, and that they had a copy of the document. To their knowledge the agreement had not been rescinded or amended and was therefore still valid. I pressed them several times on this point to ensure that I got current information. They sent me a copy with a contact name and telephone number. I believe I have it stored away with my books, mags, plans and BMFA/model clubs info; somewhere!
Do I gather from some of the previous posts that the use of electric power on the Orme is a contentious issue amongst some of the users of the site? From memory I don't remember anyone being given devolved responsibilty to administer or police the site.

Re: Gliding Sunday 22.9.13
It was all a bit of fun Allan, when you go gliding the prospect of someone having a fly when there's no wind with an electric glider is outrageous.
There's no involvement of police whether real or fun, it's an open site anyone can fly there even the Peregrine Falcon.
See this HaHa
Flare has been extinguished, I think!

Re: Gliding Sunday 22.9.13
I really don't know what you are on about, thought you were one who was in doubt. I thought there was some question on electric flying at the Orme and as I had researched it in the past offered some input(positive) to clarify the position.
As you say its an open site (as allowed by the owners/controlling authority) and wether considered "outrageous" by some is irrelavant, unless they wish to resort to the actions of the school playground and intimidate/ bully the other flyer/s into stoping. Im sure the majority are more mature than that.

like I said a bit of fun between club members, no bullying/intimidation nothing.
Re: Gliding Sunday 22.9.13
Let's go fly!
Which is what I did.
Had a great 7 hours on the orme today 20-25mph on the lip all day and very little rotor which ment lots of run throughs, touch and gos, close in combat and. Big aeros.
Some stunning models out to I counted over 30 assembled in the pits with some real beauties. Not sure if I liked the 4.5m swift, 4m fox or 6m dg808 the most.
Brandon loved his first gliding day (thanks again Tim) and had a few flights.
Nice to see Tim, Zaidy, Jem, Allan P, and Steve P from RDMFC up there to all flew lots.
Busy slope front with lots of models flying from big scale moldies, fast f3f types, vintage, sport and foam with no crossed words and self controlled natural slots,
Got some great shots with the quad to which handhelds the wind and lift really well
