Evening chaps!

There are a couple of little events that we are trying to organise at the moment, well, more trips that events in fact, and we could do with an idea of numbers before making some definate arrangements. If you can have a think and let me know if you are interested in the following (either by replying here, or sending me an email/phone call/message etc). We are looking at organising them before the summer flying season kicks off, on a date that suits as many people as possible.

First up, there will be a trip over to the Police Helicopter Hangar (Do helicopters have hangars?!), for a bit of a guided tour and talk about the chopper. I'm keen to do this myself, as it is always nice to see aircraft up close

Secondly, we are looking at organising a trip over to see Anthony Hodgson's Dragon Spitfire, based just up the road. The idea is to try and arrange the trip when he is planning to fly the machine, so we can get a good close up walk around, and witness the take-off (and possibly landing too). Obviously, this is going to be a little later on, when the weather picks up.

If you are interested in either (or both!) just let us know, and we'll get it all planned

Try offering to make them cups of tea or coffee on demand for a day or two. It used to work well for me!

Yep to both - have already been in Anthony's Spit a few years back ( static only unfortunately ) and its a cool machine - a rare two seater trainer version.

Bri as far as i know it is still based locally but dose bugger off somwere in the winter for all the service work with the BBMF

I'd heard that Tony had stopped using the field at Rhuallt because it was causing undue wear and tear on the Spit's undercarriage. I know they were flown off grass in the War but it's age may render it more difficult and or costly to maintain. Anyways not 100% sure on this, hope I'm wrong actually

A visit to the unit has been arranged for 2pm. Saturday,10.4.10. Visits normally last for about 60-80 minutes and are subject to operational commitments of the staff.Photography and mobile phones are allowed and all juveniles must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.I have estimated that twenty five members will attend ,however should there be a higher demand those members missing out will be accommodated at a later date.Can you let me know on this post who wishes to attend so that I have an accurate list of the numbers. I suggest that we meet at 1.45pm by the front gates of the premises.
I assume we all know where the premises are situated,please do not wait on or near the road entrance as this may cause an obstruction or accident.
