I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

A time before helicopters
Not aircraft, but thought you might be interested in my last venture into boat raceing in 1998.
I came up with a sports class for the club which used identical hulls and standard Irvine 25s on tunned pipes in an atempt to get interest in IC boats in the Colwyn Bay club.
Luckily we were able to park next to the lake, hence the large boat stand. The "Boat Radio" was a 3 channel Futaba Attack.
This is my boat under test. Whilst not ballistic they were fast enough to make raceing 8 at a time great fun. It went on to win the championship for me that year
My daughter Kat did not race but had her own boat which was powered by an Irvine 61 and was very quick.
Interest waned in 1999 and the IC raceing at the club disapeared for good.

It looks pointy and fast, which is a good thing
I'm picturing the launch from the little stand you have there. I can't help thinking of a thunderbirds, or A-Team style launch off the stand, stright into the water..
I was actually messing about with a little CAD model of a tiny little electric boat last year. Powered by a speed 400 or 300 sized motor (brushless of course!) and a couple of lipo cells. About 15" long, and light enough to almost float on a cushion of air. I may get around to cutting some wood one of the days....

Re: A time before helicopters
You got it in one Andy. Once the motor fired the trick was to throw the boat and grab the TX before it hit the water. Nicknamed a "Fleetwood Launch" because I first saw it done at Fleetwood where the experts could start the motor and launch within 5 seconds of the start gun. When you had 8 boats lined up this was quite hairy

Now that is something I'd like to see!
Another thing I always wanted to do, was build an RC submarine.... One day
