I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Sudbury IMAC
Myself Rich and Mats went over to the season's fiinally, a two day comp on the Derbyshire borders at Sudbury. We had a great time always a good place to go as the events there are based around the Boar's Head hotel with great grub at dicounted prices so we dined and breakfasted well Said our goodbyes to the guys and girls for the winter break and headed home, I'll post the results later
Re: Sudbury IMAC
Well done Rich Second place in his section and Brian a well done to you for your Third place.
You have both done very well in all the comps this year. I all so hear that you both will be going up a class next year
Well done both of you.
Regards Roy.

Re: Sudbury IMAC
Thanks to everybody for all the good luck messages for the past season.
Brian did exceptionally well last weekend as there were 10 other competitors in his class, there were some quality pilots in attendance. Brian has achieved more than the recommended number of promotional scores throughout the season, as a result he will be heading to the intermediate class for next season making it significantly easier on the callers (Brian & me) now being in the same class.
All we need now is for Mark to pull his finger out & give it a good go next year.

Re: Sudbury IMAC
Andy,
If going on a points total then an unlimited class pilot would win hands down as their schedules attain a higher "K" factor for their sequences.
I'm sure there is a way to devide the total points by the number of events entered therefore allowing the possibility of a basic class pilot to become the overall winner using a percentage of the maximum attainable score in each class.
As part of the Nationals there is a tropy for the pilot with the highest percentage value I'm sure Brian will be able to add some further information on the subject.
You never know Andy your white board may have to be brought out of retirement & used for something interesting for once to calculate this, you could even use different coloured felt tip pens if your allowed by the elders.

Re: Sudbury IMAC
I can't really add much to what Rich has posted but sometimes the overall winner of an event can come from a lower class as happened over in Northern Ireland where the winner of Sportsmans took the overall trophy
Re: Sudbury IMAC
Where might one find the rules/regs etc for IMAC... I'm feeling competitive this evening, and I'm wondering if I fancy having a crack at it next year.... Who knows, I may even invest in a portable blackboard and some coloured chalk to bring with me, all in the name of learning the moves!

Cheers Rich.
I notice in the rules it seems to limit the engine choices to "reciprocating IC engine, and electric motors"... I guess my steam turbine powered prop drive wouldn't be allowed?
Cheers

Re: Sudbury IMAC
Thanks Tim Andy would you need Anthracite available on site or would you be bringing your own
Re: Sudbury IMAC
Anthracite? I thought that was a kind of carpet Nah, my steam turbines would run on the finest grade of propane, possibly Butane if I was feeling particularly dirty
