I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

RDMFC 2016 competition series.
Evening all,
This year, we shall be running an official club night competition series. There shall be an event every 1st Thursday of the month, starting in May, and ending in October. They are officially designed so that anyone can enter, with pretty much any model and try their best. We shall be using the tried and tested "points" system, with points being awarded by an official Official, based on a pretty much incomprehensible scoring system. Suffice to say, no one will be at a bigger disadvantage than those who appear to excel at more than one event!
So here's the schedule:
May 5th - Limbo! Simple one this, there shall be a tape across the strip. Most passes from one direction in 2 minutes, wins the most points. Bonus points for the most spectacular flight.
June 2nd - Touch and goes. Starting from the ground, the most touch and goes, on the strip in one direction, in 2 minutes, shall win. Bonus points for the most entertaining flight.
July 7th - Spot landing. Starting on the ground, each entry is allowed 30 seconds to climb to height. The engine shall be cut, and the model landed. Closest to the spot wins. Bonus points for longest glide, and the most entertaining flight.
August 4th - Duration challenge. There shall be a mass launch. Longest flight wins. Bonus points for landing available.
September 1st - Egg drop. Load your eggs up, we are going bombing. Closest to the target wins. Bonus points awarding for landing within 1m of where you dropped your egg.
October 6th - As we are going indoors from now, its the A5 paper plane challenge. Using nothing more than an A5 sheet of paper, and 5cm of official sellotape (materials supplied from the official Official) there shall be 2 sub events. Duration. Longest flight wins. Spot landing. Closest to the spot, wins.
The points collected during this series of events, shall be officially totalised, and used to crown the RDMFC fun fly competition champion of 2016. There shall be prizes.
Each event rules to follow closer to the time.
Cheers
Andy

Re: RDMFC 2016 competition series.
Evening all.
I've had some comments regarding the rules of each of the club night competitions, and so far, as the self nominated Official Official, I am taking note of them all, in preparation for making up rules to disadvantage those making the comments!
Cunning plan eh?
The official rules of each event shall be published in due course, usually a few days before the competition. Everyone shall be subject to the same rules (except those who need a bit of persuasion to compete, I'll make exceptions there)...

I think more than a few days needed in case of mods being required. A few weeks at my present build rate!

That would disadvantage newcomers though, and therefore would be unfair.....
