I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

July 2nd - Club Night.
Hi folks,
As the limbo competition seemed to be a big hit with most people at the last club night, It has been decided to run something for the first club night in July too (July 2nd).
This time, it's a climb and glide competition.
The rules are fairly simple:
Simple. Oh, and we shall run 2 classes. One shall be for power assisted gliders (like my graphite). The other shall be for normal models (eg funfliers, aerobatic types etc). The Official Timekeepers decision will be final on which class a model is entered into. The idea is to make sure everyone can enter, and not feel like they need a specialist model.
Gyro assistance will be allowed, but anyone using such technology will be sneered at. Anyone beaten by someone using such technology, is allowed to complain bitterly on the understanding it is a futile argument.
See you then. I'll try and arrange a proper prize this time. I'm not sure whether to award bonus points, or dock points for anyone found cuddling the Official Timekeeper on the night....

The rules are fairly simple:
- The competitors aircraft shall be lined up for take off (Or presented ready for a hand launch if required) on the official flying strip.
- Power shall be applied, and when the aircraft leaves the ground (or the launchers hand), a timer shall officially be started by the official timekeeper.
- An official total of 15 seconds motor on time will be permitted, whereby the competitor shall climb his (or her) aircraft into the official sky as high as possible.
- At the completion of 15 seconds, the competitor will cut the engine (Or turn off the electric motor), and begin the official glide back down.
- A landing shall be made, and when the aircraft comes to rest on the ground, the official timer shall be officially stopped by the official timekeeper.
- The official total time (in seconds) will be converted to points (1 complete second = 1 point).
- Official bonus points will be available for landing within a predetermined landing area on the night. It will be where the model comes to rest for this bonus. The amount of points shall be determined in advance of the competition. The landing zone will be decided on the night.

I genuinely thought the limbo was a warm up not an official event
Re: July 2nd - Club Night.
You can officially enter as many official classes as you want. And so long as everyone who wants to enter, has officially had a go, you can have multiple attempts until the official timekeeper thinks you are taking the official p***...

The weather forecast is officially looking rather good for the club night coming this Thursday. Nice and calm, and warm. Excellent gliding conditions for the competition!

Re: July 2nd - Club Night.
I try.
The forecast is for the cloud to clear around 6pm, so fingers crossed the murkyness will be gone by the time it comes to climb and glide...
