I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
For the info of those it will be relevant to, the carriers for Dave's ashes have arrived from Hobby King
Started this thread as a place for discussion of the logistics and technicalities
The carriers need either an rx or servo driver to be opened so will have a look at internal size etc later. They are fixed to the aircraft by two holes arranged longitudinally approx 50mm apart. So they could be screwed directly into a foam wing (if you don't mind holes made in ones wing!) They each have two servos so four servos in total (battery peak load requirements) and would need a servo lead out to each carrier.

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
I have received an email from Jane saying that Dave's funeral went well. She is asking how the plans are going here and has suggested April.
"Kate and I were thinking the middle of April might be a good time maybeSaturday 18th/25th April - can you let me know how that might be for you. I know also I have to think of whether the glider is going to be ready.!!! "
Any thoughts on these dates?

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
UPDATE
A few of us have chatted about the choice of model and we have settled on
1) My Vulcan bomber ( assuming a decent slope lift )
2) Steve Prices Paramotor which now belongs to Jem
I have spent a few days refitting it and sorting out the drop system, and ground trials look promising.
I have now fitted both "droppers" to a mounting plate, and have devised a quick fix system that enables it to be fitted to either of the chosen craft within minutes.
I plan to do the drop as part of the seasons opening PSSA meet at the Great Orme on the weekend of April 11th and 12th, and this has been OK'd by Phil Cooke - PSSA club el capataan.
I hope to do some flight trials and dummy drops with both machines next week as I am away from Thursday until Sunday of this week.
Any club member is of course very welcome to assist or otherwise attend at the trials or of course the event itself - I don't plan on it being a formal or morbid affair - quite the opposite T
PS ALLAN PATRICK - I COULD REALLY USE THE SECOND DROPPER ASAP MATE

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
Hi
I have had an email from Jane with some suggested dates.
"At long last I can give you some provisional dates that we might hope to come up to LLandudno to scatter David's ashes. Could you have a word with the lads and see if any of them are convenient to do the deed.
Saturday 6th June, 13th June, 20th June, 4th July, 11th July.
Look forward to hearing from you
Best Wishes
Jane"
Do any of these dates fit in with the model being ready and availability, I can not do the 13th or the 20th .

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
June 13 is the second pssa event and the only date im free.
The epp vulcan is ready but not sure the paramotor back up is suitable - we could do with a large electric model as back up suitable for orme if no wind

Tim/ Allan
if you can both make the 13th then go for that date, if you let me know that you are both ok for then I will let Jane know so she can make there travel arrangements.

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
Hi
Latest reply from Jane.
Hi Brent
Sorry I have been so long in getting back to you - unfortunately we will have put the dates on hold. Kate is very keen to make sure you and Zaid are able to be there. I know you both have busy lives, but we feel that it is fitting you both if able to be there, you were good mates with David.
Could you let me know the dates of other PSS meetings, we will try and work round one of them.
All good wishes
Jane

Re: Dave Sargent - Scattering of Ashes
Brent + Gents .
Currently I can make the 13th, or any date before. Between now and mid June it's looking like I am home, from my point of view the sooner we get a date arranged the better! Can you please pass the message Brent thx

Update from Jane
Brent, thanks for the e-mail, sorry I haven't got back to you earlier - Kate has been in France, and I needed to talk to her. Unfortunately 13 June is not going to be possible. Please apologise to the lads for me, trying to organise everybody is proving a difficult task. Could you ask the lads if 1st of August is a possibility otherwise it will have to be in September.
My sincere apologies for all this hassle.
