I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Hi hope you all had a happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year . Received a small note in Christmas card from Dave here is what it said.
Dave is still making improvements although very slowly. He is happy and well looked after in the nursing home surrounded by his models and personal things- he is very determined, stubborn on occasions, still cheeky and is wonderful at winding the staff up.. nothing changes!!!
His speech however is not good, he struggles sometimes to make himself understood and gets so frustrated. Unfortunately due to NHS cut backs his speech and language therapy has stopped, this has affected his progress, the good news is he still attends Physio sessions and he certainly is making progress with his mobility . The authorities have given Dave an early Christmas present he now has an Electric wheelchair !! he is like the cat that's got the cream.
Dave is also a member of the Dorset Model Helicopter club and they are helping him fly his Helicopter again it great to see the enjoyment on his face and the sense of achievement.
Dave and his family would like me to pass on there Christmas wishes and hope everyone has a Happy new year

Good to here the old bugger is ok . What really make me mad is the fact thay have cut down on his reabilation. If he was a drugie or alcoholic they would spend no end of time and money on him.

Re: Dave Sargent
Hi
I emailed the Chairman of the club that Dave is Now a Member to see how he is getting on copy of reply below.
Hi Brent,
Yes Dave has been a member of our helicopter club for several months now.
We have all tried to make Dave feel at home and have worked at trying to get him flying.
Obviously this is very difficult taking into account his stroke, but he has enjoyed his visits to the flying field and within a couple of months of him joining we were able to get his Trex 600N back in flying condition.
He has not only been very pleased to see his model being flown for him, but with the help on the 'buddy system' we have managed to get Dave involved as well.
After a little experimenting we had Dave controlling the tail function and was able to perform the turns during the flight. You needed to have been there to see his excitement after the flight and it was a highlight for us this year.
We haven't seen Dave for a couple of months now, but I expect this is due to the weather. It's not so pleasant now and once your fingers/toes get cold it's time to head home.
He are holding a pre New Year Fly-in/get together this coming Saturday, but I don't know if Dave will be attending. I'm sure when it warms up again next year he'll be back down the field when ever he gets the chance.
If you're down this way at anytime then please feel free to pay us a visit.
All the best,
Mike.
