I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

The Tyldesley Model Flying Club Dawn 'til Dusk challenge
So then, Sunday saw 4 RDMFC members head off to deepest Enger-land to take part in The Tyldesley Model Flying Club Dawn 'til Dusk challenge fund raising event for Cancer Research. More background on the event can be found on the following donations site https://www.justgiving.com/tmfcdusktildawn
Myself, Andy S, Roy and Brandon completed a combined flight tally of over 20 flights helping the Tyldesley Club carry out over 200 flights during the course of the day. All bar one of my 8 flights was FPV with the new wing, Andy flew a collection of multis both on and off FPV and his wing, Roy flew multis as did Brandon.
At the height of the day there was over 70 models either flying or in the pits ready to fly covering the whole hobby with the exception of Heli. With 19 pilots flying a combined total of over 10 hours!
In addition Andy also entered the climb and glide comp and posted a very respectable time of over 18mins off a 30sec motor run only just being knocked of the podium late on.
All in all a cracking day at a cracking club in cracking weather for a cracking cause. What more could you want.

Re: The Tyldesley Model Flying Club Dawn 'til Dusk challenge
Aye a cracking day out. Lots of sun. Much flying. I was robbed in the climb and glide, and I will be asking for an independent enquiry into the timing systems used. I have a sunburnt forehead, and a desire to fly everything through a pair of goggles now...

I particualy liked there charging set up, powered by the wind and the sun. An idea I came up with several years ago for our club that was scoffed at!
Little things make all the differance, somwere to sit, somweare to shelter, somewere to make a brew, a dry place to fix things, a somwere to plug a charger in all make the flying experiance a much nicer one.

It's a good setup they have there, that's for sure. If we can get more access to our field, I'm up for building some starting benches and picnic benches. The sticking point for us has always been what we are allowed to do on the field, other than put an electric fence around a tiny portion of it.
It's one to discuss at the winter clubnights I reckon...
