I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Where do you get your balsa from?
Anyone got any decent places to get balsa from? Went into a local shop recently - Im not tight fisted in the slightest, but refused to pay nearly 4 quid for a 2foot length of 1/8th inch balsa sheet!

Locally, as Mark says, the best place seems to be Greenfield. They have a reasonable selection in shop. I buy mine for the year at Weston Park where I can choose the wood myself
Depending on what and how much you want I can sometimes be persuaded to part with a piece. A very small piece!!

Mail order HERE HERE HERE
If your going to embark on a building spree then order in bulk if you can't wait for the show season. Maybe get a group together to make up the order size. Or , if you only want a few sheets I have some in stock(1/32 - 1/2 mainly 36'' in various grades) available at replacement cost. Let me know your requirements.

Considering yet another build project Allan, so if you could be persuaded to part with a small piece about 4 inches wide and 75 feet long - I would be very greatful!

You are definately right about cutting out the work!Allan Patrick wrote:Maybe consider a laser cut kit? There are some very nice kits out there.. Can save a lot of the work
In fact it doesn't help I keep changing my mind over which model to build either really!
Very much in the "I want, I want, I want" mood at the minute.
Was looking at a 3m span Raven Glider I bought the plans for over the summer - I like the look of the Gull wings, but on second thoughts, not sure I have the time or patience at the minute to cut out the 50 odd wing ribs - so might look for a decent size glider kit with pre cut pieces. Also going to be building a Lalysee delta glider Andy sent me the link to about a fortnight ago. Its only a 70cm span and has 12 ribs so think I could tackle that one relatively quickly! - Watch this space!
