I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

servos
There appears to be a huge number of servos on the market.
Can anyone tell me the best to use on a fixed wing aircraft up to about 60inch span
I have been using futaba S3003 but it has been suggested I use better ones. If this is right what are the better ones? Is it a different make, if so which, or is just more expensive and if so why?

Re: servos
Pete,
I would use what you have, if you are looking to go to 3D or larger aircraft then you could up it to digital, they have greater resolution, torque & speed at the expense of having to use a larger capacity battery i.e. more amps. Digital servos demand more current, add weight (the majority have metal gears) they are also expensive in comparison to standard servo's.
I am running a 50cc airplane (albeit a slightly small 50cc) with Hitec HS645 around £23 each the digital version is the HS5945 about £60 (not sure if they still make this one or it has been superceded by another, the boffs will now this bit.
Big mistake asking "WHY" I can see "Proffessor" Andy Sayle strutting his stuff when he sees the post.

Re: servos
Can of worms on most forums but not this one,
Your servos are fine for the aircraft you have Pete as Rich says, uless u have anything else in the pipeline,
People get carried away on servos, i read a post on my 30% Glens cap, some saying you NEED JR 8711`s on each surface at £90 a throw, total rubish mine has 8411`s still overkill in my opinion the cap is an old plane origonaly flown im willing to bet with Futaba 3010`s £15 by some people!,
The big tug i was flying last year only had 3001 on the rudder and ali,

servos
Thanks Guys
I was thinking That I would upgrade the wing single servo to an HS-325 HB Hitec
Because it was a bit stronger to operate both ailirons this is ball raced and has karbonite gears and only £9.50

Re: servos
No big lecture from on this one, other than to agree with what has already been said.
I like digital servos though, mainly because of the increased precision that they seem to have over the equivalent analogue servos. That said, a decent analogue servo will outperform a cheapy digital any day
Cheers
