I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ

Re: Fake Futaba Servos
Although I fly Futaba gear I can't even remember the last time I bought any of their servos, using in the main Hitecs. Nonetheless Allan a good find and thanks for flagging it up no doubt if they're cloning Futaba stuff they'll be at it with other gear as well

Re: Fake Futaba Servos
You also have to ask yourself if it didn't have the Futaba branding on it, but instead had HK or Turnigy on it would you be worried about using it.
I'm sure if you looked inside many of the budget servos you have plenty of quality issues

Re: Fake Futaba Servos
He didn't like the clone . Yet he praising the brass bushed output arrangement. He never mentioned if there was a price difference.
I liked their choice of progressively larger gears in the gear train.
The reviewer had the ferrules upside down in the futaba servo grommets. This made me wonder if the man really knew his stuff. Seen so many assembled wrong like this. Result - no point in using soft grommets, the grommets get squashed flat.
I went off Futaba a long long time ago when I couldn't understand why a Rx I was asked to repair didnt give a signal at the ch 6 servo socket, yet it was present before the decoder chip.
The reason ? The pin from the decoder chip ch 6 did not go throught the pc board hole but had slid along the top and never got soldered to the circuit on the reverse side.
The cure - drill a hole & solder a link to the pc land. Result 1 happy bunny.
I decided then that Futaba quality control was suspect.

Re: Fake Futaba Servos
For me Futaba's quality control was provem when a) a pin that was part of the stick gymbal mechanism dropped out and jammed the stick into the center position of the right hand stick whilst flying. I 'applied force as required' to make the stick move to avoid a crash and b) when they released their 2.4 GHz stuff with the same ID programmed into all their Tx's!!

Re: Fake Futaba Servos
I mostly use JR or Hitec servo's but the last 2 models I built I have used the brushless Futaba's and they are fantastic.
They're so smooth, quiet and precise.Cheaper than the JR's as well.
My next build will definately be more 451's.

All you now Danny is a FASST transmitter to drive them properly instead of the soon to be obsolete JR/Spectrum DSM2
