I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Waiting on a regulator
Also noticed that the build thread is for R/E only so may take a little more time.

Did someone call?!
Actually Barnes, just got the finishing touches to do now.... Just faced the aileron/wing cut edges with some epoxy/microballon slurry. Can't have the wings and surfaces being all floppy now can we?
And anyway, it seems having a baby does eat into "toy time" somewhat more than I expected......

I'll be honest, it's not the nicest model to build, it better bloomin fly nice! The weather forecast is a little sinister too....

Re: 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 0 1 1
Er, sort of, yes. I actually cut the plugs off the end of the wing servos, threaded the wires under the skin to the centre (I used a bit of hot wire to cut a small channel in the foam, about 3mm dia, just under the glass skin). I brought them out in the middle, about 1" aft of the front two wing bolt locations. I then fitted a 4 pin Ashlok connector to the exposed wires. I then made a small harness with the female half of the ashlok connector, with two wires long enough to reach the pod where ther rx was, and this was terminated in normal servo connectors.
I did this so the wing could easily be removed (if needed). There is no reason why the extensions cannot be hardwired though, The model is small enough to leave in one piece really....

Re: 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 0 1 1
I remember you telling me but taking off of plugs scared me coz the the leads are so titchy! I don't like playing with 'lectric magic at the best of times.
I was reading somewhere that the binary does like a little weight but I probably have used uo any leeway with glue wieght!

Re: 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 0 1 1
The little DLGs like these are never going to be lightweight floaters, there is just too much structure to support with not enough wing area. For that reason it is better to build them a bit stronger to withstand some abuse, and have some fun with them. The Binary is a cracking example of one of them too. There is just too much weight in the foam cored wings, beefy carbon boom, glass pod etc, to make it a really efficient little thermal soarer. So, don't worry too much about extra weight, and accept the fact it will be a cracking little light wind slope model, or it will give you some serious exercise on the flat field!
The leads are pretty small, yes. What you could do, is just leave them intact, and use some normal servo extensions. You would probably only need about 4 inch long ones. That way you have a join near the wing too, perfect for a removable wing You can either hide the wires from the servos to the wing root under a bit of tape, or cut a slot into the wing to "chase" the wires in to hide them.
