I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Hi guys, whilst stripping my Raptor50 after its untimely auto the other day I decided to pull the engine to give it a check over as this is the second time it has stopped for no aparent reason.
The pic below tells it all Crying or Very sad

This is the result of me not taking the advice I give to others about leaning engines out to much. I must have lost track of the needle setting and last time out I gave it a couple of clicks leaner thinking I was at 1.5 turns out. Wrong the needle ended up at just over 1 turn out which is far to lean as the picture proves. The piston crown has started to melt and dish in whilst the rim has melted and broken up.
The bore is scored and the rear bearing feels shot.
It will probably be cheaper to buy a new engine than to rebuild this one. Anyway I have always fancied a YS50 pumper!!!!

I would convert it to Electric, but then my brain may have been damaged by playing around with amps and volts for too long Smile

I would treat myself to a whole new engine though Wink
