I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Sunday 8th Aug
Morning Chaps, who's out to play today?
Andy, if you're going to the field could you bring my ESC and prop gear from the Easy glider? Ta.

Ooh, and just a reminder for anyone flying this afternoon, don't forget to be extra vigilent for full size activity that may (or may not!) pass over the field. The Rhyl airshow is on today, so if you do spot anything that looks like it is heading our way, get your model down on the ground, or out of the way pronto
Cheers

Assuming the oddballs paint job dries quickly enough - I will be down to maiden the Fishbed - and collect me money from that angling chairman - then I can pay me 50p debt to the barbecue fund.

Someone has left a key with a smiley face on, with 2 blue carabina's, a blue torch & a blue whistle, I think Mark has them or has put them in the peg board box.
I think whoever it is likes the colour blue anyway

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
Looks like i missed a good day,
I went to the beach with the family to watch the airshow, Was gutted the Hunter didnt show but was nice to see the Skyraider (a first for me) in its place, The Reds were awsome as normal, as were the Yaks and Antonys Spit. Short vid to come when i can be arsed!
Arived at the field at around 6.30 to grab the last hour or so of flying. had a good laff with Andy and Rich, and spent a very entertaining 10mins or so listening to Tim and Marty having a domestic
Gutted i missed Sams maiden of the cougar and even more so George's Windecker (been waiting to see that for a while) hey ho

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
TBH If I could of done the airshow as well as the maiden, that would of been best but we did have quite a good view of the arrows and other planes from the field

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
What an ace day, especially Tim and Marty (Bill and Ben) shouting at each other.
Used all my batts and fuel.
I thought I also had some red arrow footage but it turned out I wasn't recording when aiming at them, but I was when aiming at my feet.

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
I had a wicked afternoon yesterday too. Tim and Marty were like a married couple arguing, I had to sit down for fear of falling over laughing! I got another couple of flights ont he big red thing. This petrol engine lark is much nicer than I remember glow engines being, although it can't possibly outshine electrickery power! Just need to tweak the CG a bit for optimum results
My arm is also aching this morning a bit. It seems I was putting a fair bit of effort into all the DLG chucking in the evening. Happy days!

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
Ahh, thought so, only Marty has decided after yesterdays experience that he really DOES need something a little more suitable to learn on
I actually suggested the fun cub and am currently linking to the powertrain bits for him.

Re: Sunday 8th Aug
The funcub should be pretty good, although I would probably go for something a bit bigger. The Funcub will get blown about a bit in wind, whereas something like the mentor would cope with pretty much anything that the field could throw at it. Of course, if it is be transported in that coffin on his bike, it might make sense to go for the smaller one
