I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Something "Fishy" here
To replace my much loved and well used F86 Sabre - which died a spectacular death in mid air collision at the weekend, the newest member of the fleet is ordered.......

Re: Something "Fishy" here
Just waiting for that hells angel hooligan to do the paint job now.
A very easy "gluing build" and the usual ALFA excellent quality of parts.
As per the Sabre, proper hollow aerofoil section wings, and central single servo for ailerons. Wing is permanently attached though. Fus is in two sections, and only joined up at the last stage after EDF is wired etc.
Figures on the thrust stand show around 1lb 4 oz, on a 3s 1800 LiPo, at some 230 Watts. AUW 19 oz before painting.
The motor will take 4s for "saylespeed" if I feel the need.[img][/img]

Yeah! More power is always a good thing Any idea what the current draw will be on 4s?
I'm looking forward to seeing this go, althugh, keep an eye on your painter, I heard a rumour he can't spell

Re: Something "Fishy" here
I dont care about his spelling - just his artistry
My data is wrong in the above post - its 380 Watts on 3s.
On 4s this combo will show 47,000 rpm, 39 amps, 550 watts
Not sure my eyesight or trousers will cope with that.
My Alfa Sabre weighed 17oz and had just 125 Watts - flew pretty scale on that TBH.
This beasty is of course a supersonic jet - so scale speed will be higher.

Re: Something "Fishy" here
Even better Tim The thing about fast flying stuff, is it looks impossible to keep up as an observer, but when you have the sticks, it gets a shed load easier

Re: Something "Fishy" here
I think it will look really nice when that lazy so and so Ball fella gets his airbrush filled and ready for some trigger action!
I have decided on the dogfish look....should be easy enough for a man who spends half his life at sea [img][/img]
I quite fancied this scheme too, but he said it was too hard - tut
