I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Another weird bolt request...
Morning all.
I don't suppose anyone has a 7/16 UNF bolt knocking around that I could exchange for a beer token do they? The length is not important, around half an inch or so would be great, and the head type isn't too important either (hex head would be great).....
Cheers
Andy

Re: Another weird bolt request...
I could probably get away with less than half an inch to be honest. It is for the earth return from the leisure battery in my van. Just need to clamp a dirty great big ring terminal about 1mm thick, into the unused seatbelt mounting....
For some reason ze chermans, who are sticklers for DIN/metric threads, put a 7/16 UNF on all the seatbelt mountings. I reckon they probably had someone on secondment from Marks Roly-Poly MG doing that bit of the design....

Ze European Standard for seat belt fixing bolts is imperial
7/16 unf-20 grade 5
Just wonder how many free lunches and meetings that took to arrange and finalise.

Re: Another weird bolt request...
It seems the world is conspriing against me to get a 7/16UNF bolt. I bought a stainless one off of Ebay. IT arrived, and was actually 7/16" long, not diameter. Off it goes back to the seller for a refund, and I buy another one. That one turns up, and looks good. I try to fit it, only to find it don't fit. It turns out to be 7/16 UNC.
I'm off to the scrpyard tomorrow, to find one that does fit! My leisure battery is getting mighty flat now....

Re: Another weird bolt request...
I'll probably have a 7/16unf bolt of an old seat belt check tonight
Re: Another weird bolt request...
Cheers Rich, that would be much appreciated
I could drill and retap, but that would mean sourcing something like an M16 tap, and then dismantling my storage units to get at it.... Plus I would need some custom ring terminals for the battery cable.....

I bought a 2 " long, 1/2" UNF bolt at GE Tools( near Aldi) in Rhyl last week for a quid, I'm sure they will have a 7/16th version

7/16 bolts
Hi Andy,
I think I have found a tin full of 7/16 UNF bolts.
The spanner size for the bolt head is 5/8AF but the nut takes an 11/16AF spanner. They are in varying lengths, up to 2". Give me a ring in the morning if you want to pop over. 01492 532975
