I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Who is out today ?
If it wasn't for the fact that I had no other model with me it would have been really funny! I made Tim go and retrieve the bits from the far side of the field and his "Gulp" was audiable even from there ... PMSL! While sauntering back with the reminents he looked like a little boy about to see the Headmaster! Priceless!
The postmortem would indicate the there was a fault with the power from the ESC, I had experienced the odd glitch before but I don't think Tim believed me and put it down to my bad flying ..... Anyway, Proffessor Andy has kindly taken the ESC away to see if he can do something with it, (I don't care what everyone says, I think Andy is ok! lol).
So, can't stay here chewing the fat! I have to do some research into sourcing my next model. I think I'll get it delivered to Tim's and he can just jump on it in the box and cut out all that pesky building and charging batteries and test flights and the like .......

OMG!
Its a fomay, so surly you can glue and tape it back together?
Or has it turned to snow?
thats odd as my tutor 40 was glitching like mad and nearly caused it to crash!
turned out to be my Tx and has been sent to horizon, just waitng for them to contact me with the quote

Re: Who is out today ?
Better than papping the beeps anyday....
I'm stuck in work all day unfortunately, so no flying for me today. Well, unless I sneak a quick flight at lunchtime...
Also, I feel I must jump to Tim's defence. Having got the ESC out of Marty's easyglider, and inspecting it close up, it looks like there are a couple of dry solder joints on the ESC (the BEC output and throttle signal input). Wiggling these about causes an intermittent connection, and basically causes everything to not respond. I'm not sure if this happened before the crash, or after, but it is most likely to have been a long term issue.
Tim, that'll be £5 you owe me for clearing your name !!

Re: Who is out today ?
LOL, Electric, never liked it and never will. every time I get an electric model I have issues with them as some of you may know.. Nitro is the future
Re: Who is out today ?
Cheques in the post Andy
I know we have all suffered dumb thumbs in our flying - I am no exception, and readily admit to it when it occurs. However, I was not in a difficult situation in this case, simply had no radio response at all towards the end of a rather steep and fast dive ( OK so I was trying to rip the wings off but thats a different story LOL ). For the newbies - its simple enough, you start to apply "UP" elevator at this point, and all is fine, a nice sweeeping dive and a smooth climb out into the next circuit.
However, it is dependant on the elevator actually responding - and it was dead as a dead thing
Its never nice stuffing a model in - especially your own - oops sorry - meant someone elses LOL
I offered to repair it for Marty, but he reckoned it was crap anyway, so wasnt too fussed .
Good on yer Mate, just the wildthing to destroy now, I will see if Jems available

Re: Who is out today ?
I commented last night it may of been elevator blowback but you wil never know now
Re: Who is out today ?
I'll tell you what Rich, it wouldn't surprise me! I was shocked at the flimseyness of the control surfaces and I did disscuss with Tim about stiffening them up with carbon ribon. but as you rightly say, we will never know now, unless I get another one and give it to Tim to do a comparison check ...... I think NOT lol
