I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Just found this new gyro and looks interesting,if I'm reading it right I think it automatically adjusts gain in flight. It could be hairy if it goes wrong though.
Why do Align release something new everytime I buy something. Suspect

As most of my flights are a bit chaotic at times the increased hold in the chaos manovers should help Twisted Evil Not.

I just measured it and it is exactly the same size as my nokia N97.
2cm thick,11cm long and 4.5cm wide.

I couldn't believe how small it is when it turned up,got it from fastlad and they do 3 different sizes, seems like good value considering the thunder power 3600 in the other one is heavier and nearly double the price.

I've often wondered why gyros are not made a little bit more intelligent. They have a really accurate gyro sensor onboard, and they know what inputs they are given from the pilot. It wouldn't take much processing to detect when the pirouette rate is not consistant, or there is a bit of tail "wag" going on that is not commanded by the pilot....

By the same reason, I still find it really odd that most gyros do not self adjust the gain setting. I mean, how much extra code in the little microprocessor would it take to put in an algorithm that will raise the gain until the tail starts to oscillate, and then back it off again. Basically take the process that you as a pilot go through when setting up a new heli, and put it in the Gyro software.

Must stop now, I'm out of chalk for the blackboard....
