I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

A poll for your favourite lipos.
I just thought I'd share this poll I've been watching thats gathered some momentum.
I know many of us will be doing a lot of electric flight over the coming months so I thought it might be usefull.

I've voted for flightpower but I've only tried them and align packs and one overlander and one thunderpower so I don't know about the others.
I might try a couple of the hyperions as me new charger is awesome so their batts should be good.
Danny.

stuff the expensive ones dan, there hyped up junk. thers an article in the bmfa news recently of some independant testing, boils down to a £15 long max pack outperforming a £60 flightpower one.

I read that,it was too late though I'd already bought 6 3s packs and 2 4s packs.
The zippys seem to be popular,I don't think I've seen them in any of the shops I use though.

I've got 3 Flightpower LiPos but wouldn't buy anymore. The best LiPos I've bought are from Hong Kong. They seem to give a lot more power on the fixed wing models.

As you know I'm not that much into electric power but I think some of the "top name" brands just don't deliver a proportionate leg up in performance to warrant the outlay. Chances are the cells all come from the same place in China anyways
Re: A poll for your favourite lipos.
Zippy all the way here! I'm amazed at the abuse the 3s 2150mAh packs I have been using in my models have held up, and that includes hammering them at around 60Amps in my glider

lipos
I have 5 Loonmax 2500 25C lipos from Giant cod. Each cell was checked for voltage on delivery and each pack balanced. On charging no balancing activity was noted . It is too soon yet to say how good they are but my experience supports the test results in theB.M.F.a magazine. I think other lipo packs are too expensive, probably to pay for the for the glossy advertising.

Zippy, Loong max, and Rhino - all excellent VFM.
I have now got a few of the new 5C charge rate loong max packs ( Rob at G/C has 'em ) including a nice big 4000m/a jobby for this, the latest addition to the Mackey hangar.
So far they perform very well, and even charged at 5C the 2000m/a packs stay barely warm.

Re: A poll for your favourite lipos.
Its the wifes really....
'tis just a Ripmax 48" - been around a while now, was originally designed around a brushed ( excuse me while I puke ) speed 600 can motor - but mine ( hers LOL ) has a 450 watt PP 1200Kv inrunner, spinning a 10 X 6 folder, @ around 350 watt off 3s Lipo.
I built it mainly for the slope, having flown one of Simon Cocker's earlier in the year - went really well, and looks nice in the air - slope /power, 3lb AUW......very versatile.
Sorry way off topic
