January 2009 Club Night - New Venue & Date

Hi All,

Well after being locked out for the second time at Rhyl Golf Club it was time we found somewhere more reliable. Not many may know that Rhyl Golf Club is closed during the winter evenings and only opend for us, but Tommy who had been the steward for many years has left and may have had an influence on the reliability we have recently experienced.

We now have a new venue and is booked for 2009. Many I suspect will be pleased, as it is more convenient for those that have to travel from Flint to LLandudno to Denbigh, and many of the club night stalwarts could roll out of bed

We will be using the general bar area and I have just been advised of a familiar face behind it (coincidence) . We also have the use of 2 other private rooms should it be necessary. The only stipulation is that members are required to adhere to a strict dress code, offenders will be asked to leave and will jepordise future use of the venue. I cannot stress how important this is and little effort is required to comply

The wearing of denim, jeans, track suits, hoodies, collar less T shirts, trainers are prohibited. Smart causal dress is expected at all times. Many of the club members are professional people and very friendly but expect us to fit in So please don't turn up in scruff's either.

Venue: Rhuddlan Golf Club, Meliden Road entrance, Rhuddlan. January to April and October to December 2009.

Time: The first Thursday of each month 8.00pm.

Parking: Ample car parking with security camera's. Do not park in reserved spaces (If theres a wall, it's a reserved bay).

IMPORTANT: January 2009 Meeting will be on Tuesday 6th (not a Thursday)

I'd like to post my "what are known as I believe" apologies as I shall not be attending this get together at the new venue, the main reason being that as anyone who has fully explored the corners of this forum will know of the difference of opinion between myself and our membership sectretary/treasurer Richard Thomas and having I think disgraced myself with a public outburst at the Rhyl Golf club some twelve months ago, I have no desire to repeat this, particularly in my own village. I am not renowned for keeping a lid on my feelings which to say the least are a little aroused at the moment and I think my absence is best all round. Apart from that I'm not sure I'd fit in not being a professional person and one mans idea of "scruffs" is not necessarily another's
I would be greatful if those of you that do know my views expressed here would pass them on to any of the members present on Tuesday who do not have access to this forum. My apologies are solely for my absence and not in any way for my views expressed on this forum

I'd like to congratulate the committee on the excellent choice for the new venue, it appeared to be more relaxed & upto date, quite a few members turned up although there were a lot of absent faces, I was suprised at the fact that nobody from the comittee stood up to present the new venue & welcome the members to RDMFC for 2009.
