I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Do I buy a R or T
It comes to us all in the end the lure for a heli has taken over and im going to get one .
got it down to 2 so what is it to be
Raptor 50 or
Trex 600
But there is a curve ball of the Knight 50 3D as ive flown one resently and quite liked it
Trex is slightly more expensive to kit out but the spares are cheeper than the raptor and lets face it i`ll nee them.
Although I do fancy makeing it scale at some point and theres more kits availible for the Raptor, Hmmmmm i duno
Ive flown electric Helis and at one time owend a Twister 3d but found it too small and twitchey
Desition time soooooooooon

Re: Do I buy a R or T
If it were me, I would be more tempted to go for the Raptor 50.
I have a reason for that, and it might not apply to you! Having built a Trex 450 (flown it twice, sold it - too big for the living room) and a Trex 500 (not finished setting it up yet, had it almost a year!), they are nice kits, but corners have been cut.
I found with both kits, that the majority of hardware (i.e. screws, linkages) was a bit on the iffy side. Pretty much all the screws in the Trex kits I had appeared to be made of a grade of cheese that was only just harder and tougher than the crusty bit you get around the edge of Brie. They worked, but I had to be mega careful not to strip the threads on them. The linkages were all pretty soft, occasionally with poorly formed threads on too.
And that's it. I have no idea if the Raptor kits are any better quality, but that is why I would go for the Raptor, just to find out
That said, you do seem to hear more about the Trex kits on the forums and stuff......
Cheers
Andy

Re: Do I buy a R or T
Don't know much about any of the three from a hands on perspective but have read of quality issues with Align athough the one Hobby Corner brought to club night a while ago looked a lot of heli for the money, the Raptor seems to warrant a lot of upgrades or is it because all this bling is available out there for what is undoubtedly numerically the most popular heli out there, talk to Bob G and Jem on the Raptor they both run them as for the Knight, I know zilch. Start doing your bowel control exercises
Re: Do I buy a R or T
Hi Mark,
Really enjoyed my Rappy 30 with no major issues at all other than those of my own making..a few probs with bearing failure on the engine and I kep`t leaning the mixture in an attempt to extract more power from it
I would think the 50 would be an awesome machine
If you intend wringing it out...as if you would!! don`t stint on fast and powerful servo`s I think they would really help.
Whatever you choose ...enjoy
