I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Yes, good to get out in the fresh air. Just made a brew and about to track down that dammed rattle on the T Rex

Well stripped the heli dowm, motor out, clutch out. The engine/fan/clutch shoe are perfect.
The clutch bell/bearing and start shaft are perfect. No sighns of wear as you would expect after 20 minutes running. At present I am at a total loss so all I can do is put it all back together with great care and run it up in the morning. Naturaly I will check the entire airframe over as I go. But as you said Brian it seemed to come from the clutch and I was expecting to find a loose bolt or a sheared clutch shoe.

Did you check the clutch bearings Dave? They are normally the caged type, and it is certainly not unknown for the cages to disintegrate....

Re: Oct 1st
Well now I really hate Glow engines. After putting the T Rex back together I fired up in the back garden. It nearly shook itself apart on tickover so out with the engine again and off with the back plate. The dirty brown fuel left in the engine was the giveaway and after a complete strip, guess what THE REAR BEARING IS TOTALY KNACKERED. If I had not just spent 300 quid rebuilding the heli it would have gone in the bin. Not bad for a seasons flying i guess Pronlem is I do not reallyy fancy fitting a new set of bearings this late in the season then laying the engine up over the winter so I might just fit the TT53 and see if I can wreck that as well.
