RAF VALLEY Families Day 2009 Thursday 27th August!

Here i have the line up for the day! Quite a good mix and match

6. DH Tiger Moth and Boeing Stearman Arrive 13:00-13:15
7. Hawk Display 13:30-13:45
8. Team Viper Arrive(4x Jet Provost) 13:45-14:00
9. Tri star Arrive for PD (216 SQN) 14:00-14:15
10. Hercules Arrives For PD (70 SQN) 14:30-14:45
11. Sea King Role demo (203 SQN) 14:30-14:45
12. Team Viper Display And then Depart 14.45-15:00
13. BAE System Typhoon Arrives for PD 15:00-15:15
14.BAE systems Nimrod MRA4 Ariives for PD 15:15-15:30

N.B Times may change due to events on the day.

This is an event for the association members only - apparantely "normal" parking and viewing spots will be severely restricted or even closed. To quote form the website...
"this is not in any way an event to which the public will have access"

I think your right Tim as the text suggests it's a families day maybe RAF families only!

officaily yes (sorry forgot to add that bit) but there hundreds of good viewing spots if your willing

Another website I found stated that "normal" viewing spots that we usually use will be either severely restricted or closed off.

This is the other page where the parking limits are discussed as follows
"This event will NOT be open to members of the general public and entry will be strictly by advanced invitation only. Access in and around the perimeter fences and Spotters Car Park will be severely restricted by patrolled road closures and 'no waiting' coned areas imposed on the day. This is not an 'airshow' or other such event to which the public can expect to have access.

Of course, if peeps really want to go, then you can prob get to see most of the stuff from several other places ...including just off the roundabout on the A5 near the valley junction

yeah never ment to sound so blunt i forgot to say the base was closed but its not like Angelsea will be closed from the Meni bridge

Yep very good day out.
We arrived 10:45 after crossing stream by footbridge, left car in Rhosniegr.
We saw flying
diamond pattern 9 Hawks including take off in sequence and same landing
2 hawks solo
1 new paint jobhawk
Hercules
Harrier
2x Tornado
Tristar
and Heli rescue display
bit draughty and cool but No Rain to speak about
