I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Sloping for me ??
I've bitten the bullet and ordered a foamy sloper 66" span Fox from HK. I've got the hots for a Jart kit but with the exchange rate what it is at the moment and the chance of getting hit by HM Customs as well I'll give it a miss for a while and see how I get on with this much cheaper foamy.
Re: Sloping for me ??
nice one Bri, The Jart is an awsome bit of kit well worth the weight if the prices come down, Fox is one of my all time fav shapes look so well in the air

Re: Sloping for me ??
Yeh was sorely tempted to order the Jart last week but exchanged posts with Andy Ellison on RCME forum and he reckons it ain't worth the asking price at the current exchange rate so I'll sit on my hands for a while and see what happens

You should be okay with stuff coming from Hong Kong, they tend to be considerably more lax than compared to somewhere like the US. That said, there is always the rule of Sod!
I'm just building me a new EPP wing up for the winter sloping now, was hoping to get it finished for today, but alas no. Working away from home put paid to that! As always, there will be provision for them whirry, foldy prop blades on mine along with a nice hot little BL motor. Perfect for flat calm days, and ballast for those windy days!
Can you post some pictures of the HK fox kit when you get it? I'm interested .....
Cheers

Re: Sloping for me ??
My Fox arrived from HK today all intact with no transit damage, well pleased with it I'll get it nailed together over the Holidays and off to the Orme as and when conditions are right. It's all white apart from the canopy so I'll have to put some colour on there to help with orientation. It's the first fox to come here that I haven't wanted to give both barrels to all the other sods were after our chickens

Had a look at that one on their website too, it looks like a neat machine. I look forward to seeing it in action.

Re: Sloping for me ??
All finished ready to go but I think the winds a little strong today for a maiden, very quick assembly and as you can see I went for the ruddered option with the servo in the fin, only just managed to get the C/G right with the battery as far back as possible so could be more difficult without the rudder option
Re: Sloping for me ??
Nice one Bri looks good. Saw somone elses yesterday quite impresed with the construction simple and strong should be good

Re: Sloping for me ??
That looks fantastic Brian! Are you heading up the Orme on Sunday for a maiden? The forecast is looking good, nice light westerly winds, perfect for a Maiden! There should be a fair few people up there too, It's been announced on the RCME forum I'll be there for a bit. Not sure if I'll be flying yet though, I was considering taking a few model rockets up there. Should make for an interesting addition to slope "combat", heh heh!

I've glanced in the crystal ball this very evening Andy and I saw a maiden beckoning me from atop the Orme on Sunday 4th inst
Re: Sloping for me ??
I can just see you with your Gypsy outift on, heh heh!
I'm going to keep any eye on the forecast though, I'm half expecting a big change tomorrow. Still, if the wind drops off completely, I'll just use the fan on the front of my glider. Only when no one is looking mind
Cheers
