Black Mike (PSS)

Successful light test with "Black Mike" today on the Orme. Black Mike is my PSS 'Howard Metcalf models' A$ Phantom. The model last flew probably round about 30 years ago but did not fly well. I recently tried it out & found a distinct turn to the right as a result of slight wing mis-alignment. Major surgery was needed & along with re-jigging the wing ,one of the tips was also reset. The model is now a pleasure to fly & handles really well . A ballast bolt will be fitted though . Nice to have a PSS model airworthy again , next the "Hog" .

By huge coincidence a friend of mine is in the middle of getting his exact same model ready to fly!! He asks where you out the CG??

His should be ready in the next couple of weeks or so..

C.O.G. on mine is 130/140mm measured from the fuselage on the leading edge & seems to be good. The model however is hyper sensitive on aileron needs some expo. I intend to fit a ballast bolt after some more flying in lighter wind as I feel it will aid penetration.
