I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Inter Club Fun Fly.
Alright Folks!
Just had word of the next round of the interclub fun fly competition. It's going to be at Tyldesley on the 12th March (a sunday). Events are still TBD. but, you don;t need anything special to enter and fly. I flew last time with a Multiplex Minimag, a small high wing trainer type aircraft. I didn't place highly, but it was a bloody good laugh, and that's mainly what it is about!
anyone interested?

UPDATE FROM HOST CLUB
Gents, just confirming the next round of the interclub funfly comp series is on at Tyldesley Mfc on Sunday 12th March.
Note, we are still holding this on our OLD field at M29 7LN. (Dont look for a map on the clubs website, there isnt one).
Events will now be ROOPS (Roll/loop etc), Spot Landing (powered and deadstick) plus our special field closing, rule breaking, planning permission ignoring event yet to be announced.....
Please be there for 10am. Sport flying mandatory. Fun Fly models or worse only in the comp please as usual.
Andy.

Re: Inter Club Fun Fly.
From the host club.
OK folks. Re Sunday's event of awesomeness...A few things:
There will be NO weather call. It will be on. If this means a dozen of us eating thirty burgers while sheltering from a storm and pushing each others cars off the field while Paul tells us how good he used to be, then that will be the event...
Our field is currently very wet thanks to the persistance of the rain. It is grim up north and our field is of course on Lancashire peat bog. You will need wellies or other waterproof boots. Please in the interim, pray for a miracle.
As we prepare for our move, our parking is a little restricted. Please can guests park carefully on the hard standing area at the entrance to the flying field. I do suspect anyone driving on to the field itself (which the home team will do to save space) will need to get pushed off.
Lastly, can you please give me a rough idea of numbers of people who will be attending. We have food to buy and big as I am, I can't eat it all. Not in one go anyway.
Thanks in advance.

Road is Moss Lane. Accessed via Higher Green Lane directly off the A580 (East Lancs Road). If the gate is closed, please close it behind you when you are through.

Re: Inter Club Fun Fly.
Great effort guys
Rhyl team of me. Andy s. Jem and Tim battled it out through spot landing, Roops and all up last down. 24 pilots and 5 clubs, Great day.
Results
1st Tyldesley MFC
2nd Rhyl and District Model Flying Club
3rd Newport MFC
4th Worchester MFC
5th Sleap MFC
In the individual results
Mark Joint 7th (behind all 6 TMFC National Champ team Members)
Tim Joint 9th (double loop issues cost places)
Jem 15th (engine issues cost places )
Andy 22nd (only did spot landing, shame as he would have won all up last down by a mile)
Just imagine if we actually bothered to take these semi seriously make me very proud to be part of a club with such high flying standards as these comps prove RDMFC always perform well despite not really trying.
You don't need anything special either, yes the powerful electric fusions are great but today foamy wot 4s won one event and placed high in spot and roops.
As always if you weren't there you missed a great day and a fantastic BBQ shame we can't get more of you out of the house.

Re: Inter Club Fun Fly.
Roop is 1 roll 1 loop.
A point is awarded for a completing the pair. Rolls must be horizontal and loops must be vertical. 2 min timmer
Winning score that round was 52 in 2 mins. average was 20-30 Its a test of plane and airspace control and mental stenght as 2 mins is a long time to concentrate.
Great little round is ROOPs and easy to practice
