Mothballing the Ultimate

Decided I'm not getting enough airtime from the Ultimate so decided to shelve it and use the motor and some of the radio gear in a new monoplane from CARF. In truth with age I'm finding lying down to rig the model right PIA, just waiting the delivery from Germany

If you want somewhere to store it I have the space. Perhaps a bit dusty but ok otherwise

Whoever the couriers are that CARF use sure ain't the quickest, I'm still waiting on the arrival of the Edge a fortnight since ordering and it was listed as a stock item. It has however given me time to tidy my workshop AKA the verandah, stock up on servos, and prepare the build space AKA the dining room. The Ultimate is now fully stripped out, sad really. Hoping it (the Edge) will arrive while the weather's still pants and I can get it nailed together

This is the colour scheme I chose, three reasons, cheapest, second Christmas/New Year discount and lastly not covered in advertising for CARF Oh and another reason Futaba colours

Edge is more or less ready to maiden, took it to Deeside two Sundays back but couldn't get the 3W to run right so no maiden that day. I've since overhauled the carb new gaskets diaphragms and needle etc. Thanks to some ill health I've not run the motor up yet maybe tomorrow or Wednesday if the weather plays ball. Doubt there will be much else wrong as the motor was singing and dancing last time I flew it in the Ultimate
