I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
yes Oggie, I know what FPV stands for, it was because you can't fly properly so I have a chance, you can't qualify so I win or at least finish better than you
Re: FPV Wing Racing!

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
That a no then lol
I did wonder about trying a cc3d on a wing last year but never got roumd to it. Have you done it before Og? Stability seems wrong on a wing or plane. Although saying that i do fancy trying a graup er 3g rx at some point

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
No mate not tried it before but think I might just leave it for now to keep it simple
Is that rx the one that can do quads instead of a flight controller?

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
I say crack on Oggie. If you want a cc3d on yours, I don't mind. The only rule is that we stick to 18xx motors, and 5 inch dia props max.
I'm not going to fit one on mine, No room. Plus I've run out of carpet glue for sticking stuff down with.

I don't like it. It doesn't make my eyes go funny when I use it, and it dries so you can't see it. Carpet glue smells muuuuuch stronger, and dries like a snot trail....

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
I've not weighed mine. It feels lardy. It has a CG though, so it shall fly. I would have maidened it in the car park on sunday if I hadn't left the pushrod clamp screws ony workbench....

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
think I may have messed up on the battery purchase... I got 800's but only when they arrived did I see they were 40-50c discharge... would the ESC handle that?????????

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
yes, its the battery that's "C" rated not the esc, the esc can deliver what it says in the specs, if you put the wrong motor/prop combination on and draw more amps than the esc can deliver then the esc will fail
Re: FPV Wing Racing!
Andy - Rich is completely wrong - those batteries will fry your esc and motor in the hornet.
Your only option is to dispose of them safely and legitimately- I'll take em off your hands - no charge.

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
Maidened my wing today in the underground. Went well, cg at the manual position is about right you need more throw than I expected, which would suggest the cg can go back a bit. Plenty of power, and surprisingly robust.
I turns out there isn't enough room to fly it in the underground.. they are going to be a eight laugh outdoors though. Probably a case of peg the throttle wide open, and try not to hit anything!

Re: FPV Wing Racing!
Carpet glue. and them some foaming pu glue, because the carpet glue was far too tidy to be in keeping with the rest of the build...
