I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Have a read here http://machloop.co.uk/ and google around I believe there are some rough timetables published but they are not very reliable and obviously very weather dependant

Re: Mach loop
It depends on what area you go to as well. Some traffic does not go round the loop & some join at other points & miss the part you are at ! As a regular visitor, the busiest part is the top of the A470 pass ( The Bwlch) but the car park is very small. There are other locations here but they involve very steep climbs which do need really good footwear , weather gear , food for the day etc. Some landowners are hostile towards photographers too !!! The aircraft are on you within about 6 seconds as well! There have been some NOTAMS in the area recently too due to helicopter operations ( civil). Generally Fridays are the poorest day but a few weeks back the USAF turned up with 4 x F-15's that really put on a show. I've been going to the Ogwen valley of late as it is closer & some very good pics can be had here too , more Hawks than anything else though. It is a bit like fishing for planes ... just dangle a camera & wait for a bite. A word of warning though ... be careful if you put any pics. on the web ... it can get people into trouble if the wrong sort of picture gets posted !!!
