I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

DX6i switch on Empty DX6i switch on

Post by Rich 2015-02-12, 09:09

I've just spotted potential problem with my DX6i

With the radio turned off, if I move the mix/throttle hold switch from position 0 to 1 the radio turns on showing home screen, if I then move switch from position 1 to 0 the radio turns off and displays the saving settings displays on screen.

Any ideas

Other than get another futaba transmitter

Does the switch do what it should do when the radio is powered on?

Not sure now, I've pulled it to bits and found the problem.

The radio was converted to rechargeable batteries from dry cells before I acquired it.

The trainer port lead was plugged into the rear switch port which is linked to the trainer switch on the other corner, so when you switch on the mix switch it was acting like the trainer lead had been plugged in if that makes sense.

Never really spotted it until I accidently moved the switch and it beeped

I'm not a genius, by a long way. See, there's a problem. As you attain more knowledge and skills (some might say real world experience), you quickly realise that there is even more to know, that you didn't previously know, and you have only just found out that you didn't know about that stuff. So, to the casual observer, I might appear to be a genius. To me, however, I know that I am far from being a genius, because I know there is far more stuff that I would need to know to be a genius, stuff that the casual observer may not even have a clue about. The casual observer probably knows something that I don't know too!

So, that proves that being a genius is all relative, it depends on your frame of reference. And that's why I don't think I'm a genius, but some people might do.

And anyway, any illusion of genius on my part usually disappears pretty soon after I open my mouth....
