I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Blimey Jem, never thought you would go this route!
I have heard of a multirotor for sale, but may be too small for you ( DJI-550 ) - and I have loads of leccy gear here, some of which may be of use to you?
PM me mate.

Changesun 12 blade 90mm.
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__22070__12_Blade_High_Performance_90mm_EDF_Ducted_Fan_Unit.html
Up a tad in price to what I paid a year or so back, but still silly cheap TBH.
PS dont buy an old SH unit, as the older ones had bad blade stretch, but the later ones - post 2012 - have GF reinforced blades, and have proven good to 37000+ rpm.
PS if you are thinking of getting one, and are likely to running at 2kw or more, then use a meaty motor with the 8mm shaft adaptor.
That one you saw today was a 1125kv HET 8mm, running on 8s, but would actually be OK up to 10s.

Re: selling up
I saw this one coming, with the advancement in technology I have also been thinking about doing the same, I just don't seem to have the time.
If your thinking of having a go at the hex/octo type aircraft you want to go with the Woo Kong flight controller they seem to be the bees knees for the heavy lift platforms, ask Zaidy about it.
If you want any information although Tim's definitely your man on the inside, he gets stuff for free, I'll do my best to help you along the way.
Get a damn large Plettenberg motor they are one if not the best there is, you can pay £600 for a decent one I have 2, 1 as a spare in case the other fails in my big glider. Don't bother with the hacker stuff expensive & rubbish to be honest.

Re: selling up
It's really to do with being practical. The wife can't stand the fumes and says it's her or the petrol. As she is quite useful around the house I have no choice. Clean clothes and food and.......... have to come first. So electric it has to be. She also says if I don't do as I'm told my next transmitter is going to be mode 2.

Blimey, Jem must be serious. Not only is he actually posting on the forum, he is using smilies!
A little 330LF quad would suit you perfectly for zipping around your garden
Cheers Tim, I couldn't remember what the fan units were called
